Chapter 35 - Elder Eric

Jina's pov:

-"Do not throw me under the bus, I tried every possible way to approach and be alone with him but I achieved absolutely nothing. You must know that Maximus is a very difficult and distant man. When he tells you something he means it and he demands to comply with it or you gonna face his rage. He was very specific with me last time, he ordered me to stay away. You understand that if I disobey him I will lose my head. I just don't know what else I can do".

-"You must convince him to meet you somewhere private. Adelina will be informed and catch you in the act! We have to separate them whatever the cost. Otherwise our plan will be lost" the voice in the telephone told me.

-"I'll do my best but look, there are no guarantees" I made clear.

-" This answer is not accepted. You know that very well. We have to separate them at any cost! Together they are an invincible team and that is not in our interest. You have to do everything. Do you understand? After all, you have received more than enough money for this job."

-"I promise, you will have good news from me soon!"

-"Ι really hope it, ......... for your own sake".

Maximus' pov:

-"I think we can call it a day for tonight! Most of our matters were solved. Let's celebrate it with a drink" Chris suggested enthusiastically.

-"Sorry mate I cannot. I am not available" I said disappointingly.

-"Οh I see....You've arranged with Adelina.... A romantic dinner with your mate is surely more preferable than drinking in a bar with a lonely nut" he said with a smirk.

-"You a lonely nut? Please dude, don't make me laugh! We all know your sexual activities...."

-"What can I say? I try to do my best!" Chris said cockily. "Now go or you'll lose the girl" he mentioned.

- I wish it were so. Elder Eric wants to discuss a very important matter with me. He arranged a meeting with me for tonight. He will be here any second now" I replied worriedly.

-"I suspect what he might want and I am glad I'm not in your shoes" Chris responded.

-"Thanks pal always encouraging..." I said sarcastically.

-"I am sorry man but I cannot stand this Elder. In reality I cannot endure any Elder! I just can't. And this one particularly, is so annoying and arrogant. That's why I will leave in a heartbeat" he said and headed to the door.

-"Ι feel you man. I am sick of them. They always demand explanations and clarifications while in fact they have nothing to suggest. But unfortunately I am obligated to satisfy his requests".

The door knocked while one of my guards informed me for Eric's arrival. Eric didn't wait to be announced and entered in a very arrogant style.

-"Good evening Alpha, Beta. I am so glad to see you again! Especially due to the fact that the Beta is also present in out meeting tonight. Maximus you outdid yourself this time. Congratulations!" he said arrogantly while I tried to restrain my anger and Chris rolled his eyes behind him.

-"Shit. He wants me too? I have a very big mouth after all" Chris mind linked me while I was trying really hard to hide my laughter.

-"Good evening Eric" Ι said firstly and then Chris repeated the greeting adding the word Elder as a sign of respect and hierarchy. Then I continued "I must inform you that I had a very difficult day and my time is limited. So since we're all here, let's get to the heart of it, shall we?" I suggested.

-"Fine by me" he said strictly.

-"Ok then. What exactly brings you here tonight?" I asked him directly without much twisting. I hate long stories with tedious details.
