Chapter 8

Blacking out is the worst. You see the whole world black and then you get horrible demigod dreams. Gosh I hated those. When I woke up I saw Kayla sitting on my bed. The moment she saw I was awake she threw her arms around me. I hugged her back.

"What happened?" I asked Kayla, "The last thing I remember was telling the newbie to go and help Selenus, then I remember blacking out."
"Yup you did black out," Kayla replied, "Then I brought you to the infirmary. I must say the newbie, Zake, was worried about you when you blacked out." She looked at me slyly.

"What?" I asked.
"Nothing," she said grinning. Then her face turned a bit serious and said, "well not nothing. I gotta take you to Chiron."

"Why? What happened?," I asked a little nervously.
"Well..." She went on to tell me about the prophecy Rachel said last night, and how after she woke up, she told Chiron that Alexa, the newbie Zake, Dex and I had to go on a quest.

"Chiron has asked you all to come to the hill to talk to you guys about it," she ended, "can you walk?"

I got out of bed and tried to walk a few steps. On the first step, pain shot up my leg. I ignored it and continued walking.
"Yeah," I said, " I'm fine." Even though I wasn't. I guess she could see that I wasn't fine because she rolled her eyes.

"Okay, I'll tell Chiron that you'll be up in a minute," she said getting up. Then she looked back at me and said, "Oh and by the way Zake's a son of Athena."

"Okay...," I said, "I didn't really need that bit of info but fine." Kayla grinned and walked out the door.

I sat back down on my bed, relieved to get the wait of my leg. I looked down at it. It had been bandaged, I removed it and saw that my cut looked a little better.

I'll admit, when Kayla first told me I'll be going on a quest I was so excited...that was until I learned that Dex out of all people was coming. Did I mention that he and I were enemies? Well at least Alexa would be there so I guess I wasn't fully unlucky. Then there was the Zak guy. I didn't know what to think of him.I mean yeah he was good looking and all but i wasn't into boys. And why would he ask if I was going to be ok? I was thinking about this while I slowly hobbled out of the infirmary. It felt so good to breathe the fresh air again.

When I was below the hill I saw that Zake looked flushed for some reason and that Dex was looking thoughtful. When I was right behind them Alexa turned to me and said, "Finally!"
