Willow
I had had enough of Dex. I was controlling my rage as much as possible but it was very hard.
"'They shall dwell to the land in need,'" I said, "that must be Chicago. There have been reports that people are suffering from bad dreams and going mad. So that must be where Morpheus is. I don't know who the eight demigods are, because clearly there are only 4 of us here."
"Oh my god Willow! Thank you for stating what most of us already know!" Dex drawled.
I had enough of it. My rage exploded and I leaped at Dex, my dagger ready. Dex was just as quick to draw his.
"Miller, do you really want to duel me? It's sad that you don't have your bow, at least then I would be scared," he said.
"Who said anything about a duel?" With that I leaped at him and started to strangle him.
"Willow stop!" I heard Alexa say. But I couldn't. He had been teasing me for as long as I had arrived at camp. I pushed Dex on the ground, then I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Willow stop. You have to stop." It was Zake.
Alexa and Zake were pulling me back. I shoved them aside, grabbed my bag, and stomped off in the woods. I didn't know where I was going, I just wanted to get away from them.
I was walking and shooting some fruits when it started getting dark. I didn't really like the dark so I did something that only Kayla and Alexa knew about. I started to glow.
Then I heard a twig break behind me. I turned and drew my bow. I shown my light a bit brighter; then I saw that it was Zake. I immediately switched off my light, a bit embarrassed.
"Why are you following me?" I snapped at him
"First it's dark, second it's cold and third I want to make sure you're ok," he said, annoyingly calm.
"Well, as you saw I have my own nightlight, and I don't feel cold. Now get lost," I growled at him.
He didn't go though. He just walked up to me and lowered my bow.
"How did you do that?" he asked.
"You mean the glowing nightlight thing? Yeah, a power from my dad Apollo. I can glow or summon a ball of light."
I opened my pam and - just like always - a ball of light appeared. As I held it I could make out Zakes face more clearly. He had a kind and calm face. His dark brown eyes stared into mine. I had a feeling that, with him around, I wouldn't fly into tempers too much. I immediately pushed that thought of my mind. I could stand up for myself. He kept staring at me like I was the only one there.
" If you want, I can leave." He said finally. Yes I had wanted him to leave.
Instead I said, "No it's fine. You can stay."
Once both of us sat down I asked him a question that had been on my mind, "Why are you being so nice to me?"
"Meaning?"
"Meaning, that you are the first boy who - other than my cabin mates - is actually being nice. Why?"
"Well...There is no particular reason. You just seemed nice and I thought we could be friends. If you're fine with it" he added hastily.
The next thing that happened, I don't really know what made me do it. I was so surprised by what he said, I just kissed him. It was just a small kiss. But then he wrapped his hands around me, and I wrapped my hands around his neck, as our lips moved in sync.
When we pulled apart I looked into his soft brown eyes.
"So does this mean we're friends?" he asked with a smirk.
"Yup," I said smiling, "more than friends."
