// homophobia and homophobic slurs in this chapter
OLIVER POV
We walked to class together holding hands and I made sure everyone saw when I kissed him. I want everyone to know that they're mine, and mine only. I don't care if people know I'm gay, because I'm the happiest I've ever been.
"Since when did you become a fag, Oliver?" I flinch at the sound of Jackson's voice and turn to see him and his friends walking up to our table.
"Just ignore them, its not worth it," Anarchy whispers in my ear while rubbing circles on the back of my hand. His voice and touch soothe me and I calm down.
"I asked you a question fag," his friends snicker behind him. It sets me off and I get up, punching him so hard he falls to the ground.
"Call me a fag one more time. I fucking dare you," he looks terrified and his friends run off without him. "What? Didn't expect me to fight back? You should know me better than that Jackson." I walk back over to my table and sit back down after he runs off. The cafeteria is silent for a moment before going back to talking to one another. Anarchy grabs my hand and inspects it, frowning at the blood on my knuckles.
"Why did you do that Oliver?" he asks, looking concerned.
"Because I'm not gonna let people walk all over us and call us slurs. I already used to do that in middle school which bad enough. I don't want there to be other people doing it now just because I've stopped," they look at me for a moment before smiling and kissing me for a few seconds.
"You guys make me feel so lonely," Jane says suddenly before smiling. "You're cute together though," I smile at her before grabbing anarchy's hand again.
"You'll find someone Jane" I finally answer and she smiles brightly at me before it fades.
"I hope so,"

After school, Anarchy and I went back to his place to hang out. When we walked in, his mom was sitting on the couch watching a movie.
"Oh hi sweetheart, how was-" she stops herself when she sees me and looks surprised for a moment. "Oh! Who's this?" Anarchy looks nervous before talking.
"This is Oliver.......my boyfriend," they look down at their feet and I rub my thumb on the back of their hand to calm them a bit. She looks surprised before smiling at me.
"Well it's lovely to meet you Oliver. I'm Anarchy's mother, but you can just call me Arin." she gets up to walk over and give me a hug. I'm still for a second before hugging back. She lets go and walks back over to the couch to continue her movie.
"We'll be in my room mom." she nods as we start walking to his room. They open the door and I'm greeted with a ton of posters of different music artists as well as some old horror movie posters. His bed sheets and comforter are blood red and black and he has little knick knacks and old antique looking toys on his desk and dresser.
"Your room is cool. It's very you." they turn to me and smile with a slight pink tinting their cheeks.
"Thanks. I kinda have a problem with needing to put things I like all around me and hoarding things I don't need," he looks down shyly before walking to his bed and kneeling on the side of it. They pull out a box filled with cds and starts digging through them. "Do you wanna listen to something?" I nod and kneel next to him to start looking for a cd I like.
I glance over them for a moment before seeing the cure's disintegration. I pick it up and walk over to their stereo to put it in. I skip to track 4, lovesong, and turn to grab Anarchy's hands and put them around my neck. I start slow dancing with him and I see his cheeks turn bright red. They reach up and kiss me lightly before we continue dancing. He eventually pulls me close and holds me to dance until the end of the song. We stay still for a moment before pulling apart and staring at each other. They're the first to speak.
"I love you," it's almost a whisper but I know he means it. Their eyes are the brightest they've ever been, their lips parted slightly and their breathing heavy. I kiss him this time. It's long, romantic, and almost intimate. We break apart again after a while.
"I love you too,"
