12 years ago:
"Robs... Wait for me.... You are running too fast!", Katherine was panting and running as fast as she could behind Robert.
5 years old Katherine was running behind her best friend Robert. They were at the Hyde Park where both of their parents would spend time with their children.
Katherine was the only child in her family and Robert had an older sister, Olivia, who is 4 years older than him. All of them were living in London. Mark, Robert's father and John, Katherine's father were business partners and good friends as well. Pamela, Katherine's mother and Daisy, Robert's mother were best friend from young as well!
As we continue....
"Hurry up Cat! I want you to run after me!", Robert shouted towards Katherine as she was quite a distance from him. Robert couldn't pronounce Katherine's name so he started calling her Cat. Both Katherine and Robert were studying in the same preschool. That soon became her nickname. Robert didn't even knew that her name started with a letter 'K'. He thought it was the letter 'C'.
Robert was the same age as Katherine but he was just born 2 months before her. He was a fast runner and loved to tease Katherine.
Katherine was running and tried to pick up speed but it was just useless. Robert was faster then her. Out of the blue, Robert had disappeared. Katherine had no idea where he went.
"Robert? Are you there?", she whispered as she had a weird feeling. At that time there was an someone who would kidnap children from parks and playgrounds and would demand a lot of money from their parents to return to them back. She was scared. A shiver went down her spine.
"Robert did the ugly greedy kid man took you? Don't you get worried. I will help you get rid of him!", Katherine was whispering even louder than before. Sadly no one was able to hear her.
Suddenly someone held her shoulder from the back. She stood rooted to the ground. Was it the kidnapper. She quickly turned behind and wanted to bite the person's hand but soon found out that it was Robert. She quickly let go of his hand and gave him a hug. He got shocked. He didn't mean to scare his best friend.
"Cat did I scare you?", Robert asked her in a concern tone.
"Yes Rob!", She let go off him and looked at him. She was about 2-3 inches taller than him.
"Oh sorry best friend. I won't scare you again", Robert smiled at Katherine. She took something from his back pocket."I went to that way and got you this. I remember auntie Pam said that you loved this special thing!", as he spoke he took out something and gave it to her. She was amused. How did he knew that she likes flowers. She look at the daisy. She was so happy. She smiled at him.
'Thank you best friend! I really- I really... What was the word mum teach me that day?', Katherine tried hard to remember the right word she was looking for.
"What does the word mean?", Robert asked her.
"It is a way to thank someone. It's ok. Maybe someday when I learn that I will say it to you. Now let's go back.", Katherine was determined that she might find out what was the word she was looking for.
