Chapter 40: Would It Be The Same?

The sun shined the same way as usual. No difference. I had been a week ever since Robert and Katherine had broken up. Katherine was on medical leave from school for a week. She had finally recovered and was finally going to go to school.

Robert on the other hand, was under depression. He lied to Katherine that he and Sophia are together but he loved her. He knew that Katherine hates him a lot. He also knew that deep down in his heart there is a small place of hatred for Katherine after what she did. She didn't bother listening to him and was yelling at Sophia for no reason. He even blamed himself for the situation all of them were in.

"Katherine? Do you want to go to school?", Ryan asked her as she was busy getting ready.

"Yeah! I'll be coming down in the next ten minutes. Just wait for me.", she smiled at him as he left the room.

As soon as the door closed, Katherine sat down and unlocked her phone. She looked at Robert's picture and began to talk.

"You always told me that I'm very decent and I live a life like a princess right? Today I'm going to prove you wrong. Katherine can be someone else when someone forces her. You did something that I would never forget in my entire life.".

She kept her phone aside and went to her closet to get some clothes and went off to change. After some time she came out. She was wearing a black sleeveless love mid summer wrap dress. She combed her hair quickly and black matching hairband. Once she was done she wore a pair of 5 inch black heels and picked up her black metal tip trapeze cross body bag. 

"Here is the new change in Katherine!", Katherine smiled to herself and picked up her jacket and left her room.

She greeted her parents and was about to leave when Pamela stopped her.

"Are you alright Katherine?".

"I'm fine mum. Don't worry. I'll totally ignore him. He doesn't affect me anymore.", Katherine smiled to her mother.

"Then why is there a change in your clothing? You hated wearing such clothes right? So why now?", Pamela asked her.

"I want to prove Robert that he's wrong about me!", Katherine answered Pamela.

"That doesn't mean you need to change your style right? All we have to do is to prove to him that you are not affected by whatever he does or says. So please change yourself to the old Katherine.", Pamela requested her daughter.

"Alright mum. I'll do that for you. Don't worry. I'll go and change then.", Katherine left her bag and phone on the sofa and ran up to her room.

She quickly changed and wore a large flora belted skater dress.  She changed out of her heels and wore a pair of pink ballerina flats. She then wore her jacket and went down.

"How is it now mum?", Katherine asked.

"Much better sweetie! Now go before you get late.", Pamela waved to her daughter as she picked up her stuff and ran out of the house.

"Katherine, it took you a long time!", Jacqueline greeted Katherine.

"I got carried off by something. Let's go.", they all began to sit in the car and drove off to school.

"Are you sure you will be fine?", Jeremy asked Katherine as they got off the car.

"I will be fine. It's just a matter of an hour. I'll wait for you'll at the porch for an hour.", Katherine replied back.

"Well then! Let's go for our classes then!", Jacqueline announced and began walking quickly to class since they were already late.

Lessons had ended. Katherine was on her way to the locker. The rest of her friends had an extra session.

"Hey, isn't she Robert Robinson's ex-girlfriend?", a few were giggling as they walked past Katherine. They decided to stop there for a moment.

"Oh my! You mean they broke up?", another one spoke.

"How could you not know?", anther spoke.

Katherine was fuming in anger at that point. She wanted to see was talking about her but someone immediately appeared and stopped them.

"We didn't broke up! Stop spreading false messages!", Robert exclaimed in anger.

The bunch of girls stopped giggling and was about to walk away when Katherine spoke.

"Actually all of you are right. We did broke up. It's just that this guy is so embarrassed to tell you'll because it was all his fault!".

They just lowered their head and walked away. Katherine clenched her teeth in anger and looked at Robert.

"Why did you lie to them?", she asked him.

"So you wanted them to insult you?", he questioned her back.

"I think you're just to afraid to accept your fault.", Katherine gave out a fake laugh.

"What rubbish are you talking? I'm saving you from being insulted and you're telling me this?", he took Katherine by the arm and pulled her closer towards him. 

"Let go of my hand Robert!", Katherine mumbled.

"Not until you tell me why are you not talking to me.", he held her more tightly than before.

"Robert please let go of me. You're touching my wounds.", a tear rolled down her cheek.

Robert didn't realise that he was putting lots of force in her wounds. Blood began to ooze out as well.

Suddenly a hand pushed Robert away from Katherine.

"What are you doing you idiot!", Ryan exclaimed as he embraced Katherine.

"What are you doing to my girlfriend you idiot!", Robert exclaimed back.

"I think Robert Robinson forgot what he told his ex-girlfriend in the hospital a week ago. Sophia is your new girlfriend! Katherine isn't yours anymore!", Ryan brought Katherine towards the car.

"Why did he do that to me?", Katherine asked Ryan.

"Shhh! Just stay calm. Let's wait for the rest and return back.", Ryan pulled Katherine towards him gently and began to hug her.

"I don't want to stay in London anymore. It contains lots of unwanted memories.", Katherine hugged Ryan much more tighter.

"We will see to that once we go home!".
