While Chloe was allowed to leave two days later, Marinette had to stay for more than another two weeks in the hospital in London, before she was brought to the clinic, Jaques was working at in Paris, in an ambulance. There they wanted to keep her for another three weeks, because after all that had happened, she had not even been allowed to get into a real sitting position for the time, she had to stay in the English capital.

The hole, that had been drilled into her skull was already covered with fresh scar tissue, yet the bone needed to regrow completely and this was one of the things, the doctors were still worried about. Also they feared, that there could be another blood clot somewhere in her veins, that would even cause a worse obstruction than the first.

And last there was the issue with Tom and Sabine, who had given the order, that they had to be asked about even the smallest decision, concerning their daughter's treatment. Marinette had tried to talk them out of that but without success.

But today, after arriving back in her beloved Paris, she had asked her mother to visit her without her dad, so she could talk with her calmly and without her father not even letting her speak.

As Sabine knocked at the door to her daughter's room, she could hear an excited: "Yes, come in", from the teenage girl.

"Hello, sweetheart, how are you feeling?", she asked her carefully, trying to not upset her right away.

But the mother to be simply scoffed and asked cynically:

"What, you don't know? Haven't you spoken to dad today? Those last almost three weeks, you both pretended to know, how I felt and what would be best for me, each and every time, I wanted to make a decision of my own!"

She then continued coldly: "Today, mum, is the last time, that I am begging you, to let me make my own decisions, because it's my life and the lives of 'my' children, we're talking about. If not, I will take Gabriel's offer to hire a lawyer and get myself someone else to speak for me!"

"You can't just do that, Marinette! No judge would declare a sixteen year old, pregnant girl to be a responsible adult. You will still be a minor and someone will become your legal guardian and then this person will make the decisions for you. Is it better, if a stranger does that instead of your parents?"

"You forget, mum, that those babies inside of me, have rights of their own and that their father has to agree to every treatment that could effect them. That means as well, that he can decide to start a treatment, that you don't allow, because it's in the twins' interest and both 'their' parents agree to that. So even without any lawyer, you can't decide any further from here. And until you are willing to support me again, I don't want either of you to come and see me anymore, because I get all worked up, if you do and that's bad for the babies too."

Tears brimmed in Sabine's eyes, as she stared at her only child.

"Marinette, we only want what's best for you. You are a child, and the reaction you are showing right now, proves that. Your dad and I just want to protect you from any further health problems. Why can't you just understand that?"

"Because neither dad nor you have been reasonable lately. You just decided, to lock me up, cut off all my rights and endangered my children's lives when you gave the order, that you're the only ones, who can decide about 'my' health!", Marinette was yelling at her mother now.

Sabine was sobbing as she said:

"We are afraid to lose you. Can't you see that?"

"No, I can't. Because you just care about yourself and not about me and how I feel, being in danger and scared of losing both my children every day! Just try to double your fears, mum. Either you sign that paper over there on the table, that gives Gabriel and Emily the permission back, to decide as a guardian for me, or I will choose the hard way. And by the way, in case Gabriel and Emily aren't available, Nathalie is in that paper as a third guardian too. Please, mum, don't let dad's anger towards Adrien and what he, in his mind, 'did to me', force you into wrong decisions too. I need someone to trust too. I need to speak it out again. The as cold and almost cruel known designer, Gabriel Agreste, has shown me nothing but kindness and understanding and his fatherly love. What did I get from my own parents? Accusations, threats and hatred. Well not me, but the way dad treated and treats Adrien again...", the agitated, pregnant teenager shouted at the older woman.
