𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 1, 𝗲𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲, 3, 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 1
The twins were both in Miguel's room practice their punches, ocationally helping each other. When they herd their grandma, "Miguel Brooklyn!" The twins replied in sync, "We'll be right there. Almost finished."
The three were at the dinner table when Carmen came in, "Oh, look who's here." Said their grandma. "Hey guys! Mm it smells good in here." Carmen greeted. "I made chicken in chili sauce." informed their grandma in Spanish. "Thank you, mama." Carmen thanked in Spanish. "I'm sorry i'm late again. Things are crazy at the hospital." Carmen said while she kissed, Brooklyn and Miguel. "It's ok, you're short staffed." Brooklyn reassured her mother. "But, we saved you some food." Miguel said. "So, did you guys decide what you're going as for the Halloween dance?" Carmen questioned the teens.
"Well, I was thinking Deadpool, but the costumes a little pricey." Said Miguel. "I was gonna go as a cheerleader." Brooklyn said. "Well how much is it?" Carmen questioned her son. "Oh, it doesn't have to be Deadpool." Miguel said. "You want a Deadpool costume? We'll make you a Deadpool costume." Carmen said. "No this isn't a sweatshop." Their grandma said in Spanish. "Oh Brooke, what happened to your hand?" Carmen questioned. "Um.." Brooklyn said trying to come up with an excuse. "You don't wanna know." Their grandma spoke in Spanish and gave Brooklyn a glare. "What?" Brooklyn questioned. _____________________________
Miguel and Brooklyn were back in the dojo punching the dummy's when Johnny came in and said, "Hey, you two don't have any friends who wanna learn karate, do you? Aw, what am I saying? You don't have any friends. Sorry." Brooklyn rolled her eyes and muttered, "We do have friends, jackass" "Hey, Sensei, when are we gonna learn to do some kicking? I saw a YouTube video of a guy breaking boards, and it looked badass" Miguel said.
"Yeah, no shit. kicking is badass. But you guys aren't ready. Besides, if I don't get more students in here, I won't be able to teach you anything." Johnny said. "You've thought about advertising, right?" Brooklyn questioned. "Yeah, duh. Of course." Johnny replied. ______________________________
"Cyberbullying is no laughing matter. Sending a cruel message to someone online can be just as hurtful as saying it to their face. I'm not gonna name names, but the other day a mother called me up, because her son was crying after some kids online made fun of his facial deformity." Eli covered his scar, Brooklyn held his hand under the table, he looked at her in shock. She smiled at him and said, "Hey, it's ok, why be the same when you were born to stand out." She kept his hand in hers the rest of lunch.
The counselor continued, "But today, our goal here is to make this school a safe space for all students." Miguel then started, "If you're sick of being bullied, our karate dojo's looking for recruits." "Yeah, right did you hear that, Eli?" Demetri questioned. "A little karate training, and you're gonna kick major ass." He continued. "He's serious, Demetri. Our sensei's the real deal. I'm sure we could get you guys discounts." Brooklyn stated, "As enticing as that soun-" Demetri started, "I'm in." Eva said, the group looked at her, Brooklyn smiled at her. "I get to kick ass, and have a discount, I'm in." She repeated.
"Oh and one last thing, while we're all looking forward to the Halloween dance, let's make sure our costumes are culturally sensitive. For example, instead of 'sexy nurse' maybe try 'gender-neutral hospital employee'." ____________________
Miguel and Brooklyn were outside the dojo waiting for Johnny to get there. "Hey, Sensei you told us to be here at five, right?" Brooklyn asked. "Yeah, but today's training is canceled." Johnny said. "What! Why?" Brooklyn questioned. "Cause I said so." Johnny answered as he walked through the door Brooklyn and Miguel trailing behind him.
"Sensei, there's something that we wanna show you." Miguel said. "Look, I'm really not in the mood." Johnny said. "But we think you'll like it. It's a cobra kai web page right? We made it in study hall, click on the snake." Brooklyn explained. Johnny clicked the snake. "Ok this is the sign in page. We were thinking, we can make an app where you track your progress, get a social media campaign going, get it out to the whole school. The possibility's are endless!" Miguel finished explaining.
Miguel's phone rang it was "Round and Round" by Ratt. "That was our mom. I'll call her back later." Miguel said. "Hey was that just.." Johnny trailed off. "Ratt? awesome right?" Miguel asked "Yeah" Johnny answered. "Brooke made me look up Guns N' Roses, and we ended up going on this whole '80s rock rabbit hole." Miguel said. "That shit is dope" Miguel and Brooklyn said at the same time. Johnny smiled at both of them, and ruffled Brooklyn's hair. "You did good kid." Johnny said to Brooklyn. Which Brooklyn smiled in return.
"Alright you two, meet me at the high school at midnight. Don't be late." "What for?" Brooklyn questioned as she got up. "You wanna learn how to kick ass? First you gotta learn how to kick." ____________________________
