"You've trained hard. You've gotten stronger, tougher, faster. You've done your best. You're ready for this tournament, am I right? "Yes sensei" everyone yelled. "Wrong" Johnny said as he threw a beer can at the group of kids. "You're best aint shit. If you wanna win the All Valley Under-18 Karate Tournament, you gotta give me better than your best. Which is why from now on, you're gonna get my worse. Do you understand?" Johnny said.
"Yes sensei." everyone yelled. "Are you losers?" "No sensei." the group yelled. "Are you nerds?" "No sensei." the group of teens yelled "Are you sure?" Johnny questioned. "No sensei" the group yelled except for Eva and Brooklyn who said the correct thing, "Yes sensei." they began training.
Johnny gave all of them meat, "Are you hungry?" Johnny asked as Eva and Brooklyn shared a confused glance. "Good cause so are they." Johnny said he then blew a whistle. Brooklyn realized it was a dog whistle, "Shit" she cursed and ran. _______________________
Miguel and Brooklyn were in the dojo punching the dummy's, "Ok, ok! That's enough. Save some for the tournament" Johnny stopped the two. "Why are we the only ones here, Sensei?" Brooklyn asked. "Cause let's face it you two are the only chance I got at winning this thing." "I'm flattered." Brooklyn said sarcastically. "So what? We're your best students?" Miguel said.
"Stop flattering yourselves." Johnny said as the two walked over to their things. "Have you seen the others?" Johnny asked. Miguel chuckled, "What's so funny?" Johnny asked, "Is it your girlfriend?" Brooklyn teased. "It's this funny picture my girlfriend posted." Miguel said.
"Wait a second." Johnny said as he ripped Miguel's phone out of his hand. "Is that Daniel LaRussos daughter?" Johnny asked. "Yeah, do you know sam?" Brooklyn questioned. "You're dating a LaRusso?" Johnny questioned. "Yeah, why? is something wrong?" Miguel said. "We need to talk." Johnny said. ___________________
Johnny, Miguel and Brooklyn walked out of Johnny's car, "Hey, guys. How was training" Carmen greeted as she came outside. "Oh, their both doing great." Johnny said. "Miggy, Brooke, go get cleaned up. Yaya's making seco de carne." Carmen said. "Ok, bye sensei" the twins said.
"So, Miguel and Brooklyn told me about the tournament. I hope they don't get hurt" Carmen said to Johnny who joined them for dinner. "Mom, I told you there's referees. We can't get hurt." Brooklyn said. "At least not permanently." Johnny said. Brooklyn face palmed at his words. "They'll be fine." Johnny stated. "So, have you always lived in Reseda?" Carmen asked. "No, I lived in Encino." Johnny said. "Really? Really nice houses there." Carmen said "Yeah." Johnny mumbled "Well, just because you live in a nice house doesn't mean nice things are going on inside." Johnny said.
"Mhm, I really like these bananas ." Johnny said. Brooklyn chuckled at his words. "They're called plantains." Carmen informed. "Oh. In english we call them bananas." Johnny said as everybody laughed. "What's so funny?" Johnny questioned. Brooklyn's phone rang. "Sorry" Brooklyn apologized.
"It's ok mija, go answer it." Carmen said. "Thanks!" Brooklyn muttered as she walked into her room. Brooklyn answered her phone, "GUESS WHAT!" Eva screamed into the phone. Brooklyn laughed at her behavior, "What?" "Taylor Swift is coming out with an new album tomorrow." Eva said excitedly.
"Your joking." Brooklyn said. "No, we have to listen to it on repeat until we know all the words to every song." Eva said. "Definitely, i'll see you tomorrow, bye." Brooklyn said as she hung up the phone, Eva and Brooklyn both found out they were both big swifties since they started hanging out, they now talk about Taylor Swift all the time. __________________________
Brooklyn, Eva, Miguel, Hawk and Aisha were all at the movies together. Miguel and Aisha were watching the movie. Hawk was throwing popcorn trying to get it into other peoples buckets. And Eva and Brooklyn were on Brooklyn's phone refreshing Taylor Swift's spotify page waiting for her album. The two kept on refreshing until they saw the album, the two squeeled super loud, the whole audience shushed the two. Hawk looked at the two, "What the hell are you two so happy about?"
