Chapter 19: Big News

Chapter 19: Big News.

Let me start off by saying, I was not the one to tell people about Emily and Hotch. Well anyway, somehow, the rest of the team found out about Hotch and Emily. I really didn't say anything. I think that was to do with Morgan, must ask Alison about how they found out. Anyway. So nothing really interesting was happening for about a month, and then BAM! I was hit with the biggest thing ever to happen in my life.

OK, so I'll walk you through what happened. We were working on a case in Virgina so we could stay at home instead of staying in a hotel, and we could work from Quantico. I feel much more content working in a place that feels like home to me. So anyway. We were going to the crime scene, when I say we I mean me and Alison. We got to the crime scene and found the officer in charge. "Hello, I'm Dr. Reid" I said "And I'm Agent Reid." Alison said. The officer smiled and said "Wow, brother and sister working in the same unit, strange. I am Detective Walsh." Alison just burst out into laughter. "Did I say something funny?" Walsh said.

I smiled and said "No. Were not brother and sister. But Husband and Wife. She finds it amusing that you think we are siblings. I would like to see the body now. And Alison if you are finished laughing, I would like you to come with me." She took a deep breath and nodded. The body wasn't a pretty sight but what really concerned me was that Alison ran from the Crime Scene gagging. All the crime scenes we had been to, many much much worse than this and she was vomiting at this. Something wasn't right. So I ran after her, mid-sentence. I had never run so fast in my life. I faintly heard Detective Walsh say "Doctor?? Everything OK?" I didn't answer, I just kept running to where I could hear Alison coughing. "You alright honey? You really scared me?" She nodded and said "Yea I don't know what happened. We have been to worse scenes. I will be fine. Now lets get back to the body." And she walked off ahead of me. She had taken about 5 steps and ran behind a hedge to throw up again. I wasn't having her like this out in the field. So I took her hand and said " We're going back to Quantico, I want you there so someone can keep an eye on you!" She sighed in defeat and walked with her head on my shoulder.

We had to make a quick detour to where the body was. "Hey detective, I have to take Agent Reid here back to Quantico, she is sick and needs to be near friends who can care for her. Sorry"  He nodded and turned his attention back to the body.  We got into the car and I put the windows down all the way so she could have some fresh air. She was calm and fell asleep on the way back to Quantico. Garcia said she would take care of Alison in her office. I had to go back out in the field, but I didn't want to leave Alison when she needed me. She had never been sick while she was with me. I mean never. No cold or cough, nothing, so I thought this was wierd. I dismissed it and went back to work.

I went back to Quantico to report back to Hotch. I went to Alison's office to see if she was OK but she wasn't there so I went to Garcia's office, thinking she would be there but she wasn't. Garcia said she sent her home with Prentiss because she needed to rest. I decided there that I was going to go home. I went up to Hotch's office knocked on the door and walked in. "Hey, Hotch are we all really busy??" He looked at me and said "You want to go see Alison, don't you?" I nodded and he said "Go, but send Emily back, tell her I want to...... talk to her!" He had a glint in his eye when he said that and I mentally blocked the image I could see coming forward. I nodded and swiftly left the room and headed to my car.

I got home and Alison was in the bathroom and Emily was trying to coax her out of the bathroom but all I could hear her saying was "Get Reid, please!" Emily was replying with "He won't answer his phone, he must be out in the field" I appeared and put my hand on her shoulder and said "What's wrong, whay does she want to see me?" Emily shrugged and I said "Oh Hotch wants you back at base. He wants to...... talk to you" She giggled and ran to her car. I knocked on the door "Alison, I'm here now. What's wrong?" She opened the door, her face covered in black streaks from her mascara running. "Well I was on the internet and went to an online doctor. So I went to the drug store to get some things I might need to figure out why I am vomiting and........" She paused looking for the words and started to cry again. I lifted her face up and said "Darling, you can tell me anything. Please!" She looked up and a big smile spread across her face and she said "I'm Pregnant!!"

It took me a minute to process this information but I was delighted. I always knew I wanted a family with Alison in the future. I hugged her and she said "So your OK with this?" I pulled bac saying "Of course, we are starting a family!" And l put my hand on her stomach. She smiled and kissed me. "So do we tell everyone when we go back or keep it a secret?? I really want to tell them when I go back, there is no way I could keep this secret!!" I smiled and said "OK, lets go back to Quantico, but first you might want to fix your make-up"

We got back into the car and drove to Quantico, a huge smile plastered on my face. We walked into the bullpen hand in hand and Hotch saw Alison and walked out of his office, a serious look on his face. "Alison, I sent you home!" Hotch said. "Don't worry Hotch. It is nothing contagious, trust me!! Could you gather everyone in my office now please. I want to say something!" Alison said and swiftly walked to her office. I followed. "So how do you want to announce it?? You wanna do it or we do it together?" She smiled shyly and said "How angry would you be if I said it by myself?" I said "Very!! Go on!!!" She smiled and everyone started filing into the room and Alison put a serious face on. Everyone was in the room and Alison started by saying "Thank you all for coming here. I have a very important announcement and I needed all of you here. OK so here goes. Guys, when I tell you this, I don't want you to be angry or overwhelmed. OK. Well I'm.......... Pregnant!!"  Morgan was the first to speak "Are you serious?" we nodded and he came over and hugged both of us. Then the squeals of delight came from the girls and Hotch and Rossi went over and hugged Alison.

It has been an exciting week. I have gone form a husband to a husband and a future father. Tomorrow we are going to the hospital to see how far she is along and see when we can get a scan.
