Chapter 21- The Battle

Right, so yesterday, Ashley Seaver joined our team. No warning, Strauss just said she was joining our group. The women were given the task of getting to know her, to see if she could be trusted. Although, Alison was finding having one conversation with her very hard. She couldn't stand the woman. It was like she was flirting with Hotch.

Emily is not one bit impressed with her. I mean Seaver flirts with Hotch right in front of Emily. Emily was fit to hit her yesterday, when she bent down to pick up her pen, showing her ass to Hotch. He wasn't looking, he was talking about the babies to Alison. I think that's what kept Emily from hitting her. Thank God.

"Case" Seaver said walking past me.

I got up and went and got Alison, who was in her office, where she always is.

"Honey, we have a case" I said.

"OK." She said and she left her desk.

"Can I say something, and please tell me if this isn't what you want, but depending on the case, can you please stay out of the field?" I asked.

"Let me think about it" She said. I nodded and we entered the conference room. As usual, Seaver was oogling at Hotch. It actually was disgusting. Emily was getting seriously pissed off, and the girl had only been here 2 days. She is gonna get 'accidentally' shot by Emily one day out in the Field, I can just see it happen.

"OK, so this case brings us to New York." Hotch said. Alison's face lit up. Her face is gorgeous when she has that look of happiness in her eyes.

"3 dead females, Still Jane-Doe's. Throat's all slashed with the same weapon. Tool marking were an exact match" Hotch said.

"It's nearly impossible to determine what tool marks are used with throat slashes" Seaver said.

"Usually, yes, but not in this case." Hotch said, not looking at her.

"Aaron, why are we being called into this case? It's not something we usually deal with." Emily asked. She doesn't call him Hotch any more, just as he doesn't call her Prentiss any more. It's sweet. Like Alison calls me Spencer and I call her Alison. Well I suppose it would be weird me calling her Reid and her calling me Reid.

"Each of the victims had a word carved into one of their legs" Hotch said and he changed the slide on the screen.

"Help me before...." I said.

"There are a few possibilities as to what the next words could be. Help me before it's too late. Help me before I cannot stop. Help me before it goes too far. Way too many possibilities. Each has about six of seven victims." I said. I started scribbling each possibility on my notepad.

"What is he doing?" Seaver asked.

"Writing the most likely word combinations for this killer" Alison said, which was cool, seeing as she hadn't looked at my notepad once. Her eyes were fixed on something on the screen. I could see her out of the corner of my eye.
