Cursestar Headquarters was not what I expected it to be.

Once on the island, there were a series of floating islands with the headquarters on the biggest one. In order to get there...you have to fly or use the teleport pad that is on the surface.

And once you are on the biggest of the floating islands, it is like a little civilianization. There are houses and such scattered throughout the forest-covered island. Markets, shops, and more. And since the wizard population in Estir is so low, there aren't a lot of people out. But as Catherine and I walked towards the headquarters, we walked past a lot of people.

In a way, this place reminds me a lot of Rullus but just downgraded to only accommodate a low number of people. Notch decided to tag along with us, I don't know what angle he is working but whatever. It isn't like he will do something to make this any worse.

So the four of us; Kala, Notch, Catherine, and I headed up to the headquarters. Which is a single building that has holes in it. I say it is just some building, but it looks like some old manor that is poorly maintained. It looks like it is on the verge of collapse or in the middle of repairs that just never got started up.

I started hearing whispering around me, seeing we are starting to be followed by the wizards. Catherine moved closer to me, looking nervous and I couldn't help but smile a bit.

I mean, she has been beaten twice...that's embarrassing.

We went inside, seeing that there is little to no maintenance or cleaning is done inside this building just like on the outside. Given how wizards are, I sort of expected something grand. But this building is familiar to me, these halls look like ones that I once walked in. And given how I was the leader of the wizards, that must be why they are so familiar to me.  We entered a large room, tables on the sides with risen steps where a throne sat. On one side sat a lit fireplace with chairs around it, in those chairs are mages.

This must be some type of makeshift throne room. On the throne, sat a woman who looked towards us. Around are a few mages who seem to be chatting or playing games. But their games and chats ceased once we entered the room.

I didn't mention this, but all I can sense around us is magical energy, I've never been in a room with so many powerful mages before. Granted, the Fyre Brothers and others are powerful, but these...there are more of them and all staring at us.

The woman laughed, getting up and looking down at us, well...mostly at Catherine. "Come here for round three have you? I will admit, your determination impresses me, but it is wasted, Guardian," she snapped at Catherine.

"Are you Nicola Staunton?" I asked as Catherine hid behind me.

She nods, looking at me. "Yeah, who are you? Are you another pathetic Guardian?" she asked me. Now looking at her, she seems strong. She has dark red hair that is pulled back into a braid that rests on her shoulder and wearing dark-colored clothing. But it is her brown eyes that unease me, there is something strange about them that just doesn't feel right.

I smile. "Well, I wouldn't call myself pathetic, but yeah I am," I told her.

She sighed and went down the steps so we are on even ground. "Clearly Harvey skipped out on a lot of training for you people. But he was always one to be persistent," she said as she crossed her arms.

I smile again. "Thanks," I said confusing her.

"For what?" she said before I lowered my hood and when I did, her eyes widen. And the whispers around us grew making me glance at my surroundings for a moment before looking back at her. I see her hands grip her arms and she let out a low chuckle. "Of course you are still alive. Let me guess, you want your throne back."
