Genesis was angry. She couldn't believe she had let Murphy do that to her, she was more disgusted with herself for being so weak, so helpless. She now understood what Bellamy meant when he said that she couldn't defend herself.

Not that Bellamy would offer to teach her, he had been ignoring her for days now. Why? She had no clue. He had tried to speak to her on the way back to the camp that night, but she ignored him. But could he blame her?

It was as though he had put up a wall. Their once close bond had now crumbled, she felt as though he didn't care for her anymore. And it was painful, especially since he was the first person she had ever confided in about her past.

What Genesis didn't know was that Bellamy was hurting too, he wanted nothing more than to comfort the girl, he knew she was struggling. He knew that her nightmares would be worse than ever and he wished he could help her, but he couldn't.

She barely got any sleep, always being up in the middle of the night and going for walks outside the wall. He knew where she was going, he watched from a distance every day, it was the only way he could actually make sure she was safe.

When Murphy brought Bellamy's feelings to attention that night, he knew he was immediately going to be perceived as weak. No one could keep quiet round here, he knew word would eventually get out that their leader had grown a soft spot for some girl, but she wasn't just some girl, but he was afraid that she would be used against him again, just like she was that night.

So he ignored her, he wouldn't look her way, any time she walked in his direction, he would turn around as though he meant to. The way he saw it was that if he was ignoring her, then she was safe, but he also knew she was suffering too. He saw the pained look in her eyes every time he looked at her from afar. But it was better this way.

So he distracted himself, in ways that were enjoyable but definitely not fulfilling.

Genesis noticed. She would sit on the same patch of grass every night, the same place she sat with Bellamy not too long ago, as they confided in one another. She could see his tent from where she sat, she always saw girls leaving his tent, one after the other.

It made her question what Murphy claimed. That Bellamy was her 'knight in shining armour' and she was his 'pride and joy', at first she was confused, not having any idea what the murderous boy was trying to insinuate. But now that she thought about it, Bellamy and her did care for each other, a lot more than they led on. Just neither of them knew how the other truly felt.

But Genesis questioned it all. The way Bellamy was acting towards her now made her doubt everything. Perhaps she was in denial, perhaps he didn't care about her at all because that's what it certainly seemed like.

Genesis was sat in her usual space, looking up at the night sky above her. She took a deep breath before looking at Bellamy's tent, the light inside let Genesis know that he had two girls in there due to the shadows enveloping the tent.

She shook her head, scoffing. She then looked down at her bandages up arms. Murphy had only left a few cuts in scattered areas, but they were definitely deep. She pressed down on it lightly and hissed from the pain, but it felt good in a way, it distracted her, just as she was about to do it again, a voice grabbed her attention.

"Hey." Octavia greeted her, smiling as she sat down next to the blonde. "How've you been?"

"I'm hanging in there." Genesis gave her a timid smile.
