Genesis was the only person that wasn't running around with excitement, she was still staring down at the grass that she still had yet to step onto.
"Why aren't you celebrating like everyone else?" A voice sounded to the right of her and she looked up to see Bellamy watching her, she had no idea how long he was standing there for but she knew it couldn't have been long.
She hadn't a clue why she wasn't celebrating like everyone else, she wanted to savour the moment. In mere moments she may be dead from the radiation that would be seeping through her body or maybe she would be murdered by one of the many delinquents that were scouting around her, she wouldn't rule out the idea of murderers being sent down with them.
Her racing heart settled down when she realised that there was worse places to die, she could have been floating through the earth while the oxygen was sucked out of her body and her skin turning blue. Instead, she was surrounded by a new world that could either be the death or the salvation of one hundred people.
"Just basking in the heat before I'm poisoned by the air." Genesis shrugged, looking up at the sky.
"I'm sure if we were to be taken out by radiation it would have happened already." Bellamy countered. "So why don't you bask in the heat on the ground instead of a drop ship door?"
"You know, you make a good point." Genesis nodded, taking one step at a time to jump off the drop ship door and when she did a smile worked quickly on her face. She stared down at her black boots on the grass, a sight she never thought she would ever see. "Okay, I've always dreamt of this and I can't believe I'm actually living through it."
"Well, get used to it because we'll be down here for a while." Bellamy nodded. "What's your name?"
"I'm Genesis, and you're Bellamy, right?" She questioned, looking around her instead of at him which she found quite hypocritical of herself since she told Finn mere moments ago that it was rude not to look at someone while they were speaking but she had an excuse since they were on Earth and all.
"How'd you know that?"
"Im guessing it's your sister that said your name when she first saw you." Genesis said in more of a question.
"Yeah, Octavia." Bellamy nodded once again.
"I sat next to her on the drop ship when we were coming down here, she seems really sweet." Genesis smiled.
Bellamy looked at her with confusion, he didn't understand why she wasn't being nosy like the rest of the people he had encountered. Most people would have asked him how he came to have a sister and the answer to that was obvious.
"Yeah, she's been through a lot but she manages to keep the same strong willed attitude about her." Bellamy said, smiling at the mention of his sister.
"You're lucky." Genesis stated. "I've always wanted to have a sibling but my dad died before I could even utter a word, not like it would have been allowed though. That rule is honestly the most stupidest rule out of all of them."
