I woke up feeling dizzy and sore. Pakiramdam ko, bugbog na bugbog ang buong katawan ko. I'm in my room in our apartment. I could tell because of the familiar surroundings.

I roamed my eyes and saw Elle on the couch, sleeping peacefully. Muli kong ipinikit ang mga mata ko para muling ipahinga ang sarili.

Nagising ako sa iilang boses na nag-uusap sa isang tabi. I pretended to be asleep so they could continue what they're talking about. They seem to be so serious about it.

"How are we going to tell her, Anton? My poor daughter, why did she suffer like this?" rinig kong boses ng mommy.

Why is she here? She's supposed to be in New Zealand.

I heard a loud sigh and I'm sure that it's my dad. "I don't know... I don't think she can handle it."

"Pero tito, she needs to know as soon as possible, hindi pwedeng itago sa kaniya 'to. Kailangan din to malaman ni Sandro," Simon butted in.

"I know, hijo. But... this is such a sensitive issue. Sandro is still clueless about what happened at nagpapagaling pa ang anak ko," ani daddy.

"Oh God," mom started to sob. I really don't understand what they are talking about. But one thing's for sure, they won't let me know in an instant.

I heard the door opened and everyone seemed to be in panic. Iilang kalabog ang narinig ko dahil sa mga upuang tila nagbabangaan.

"Your Royal Highness," my dad greeted.

"What happened to my grandson's wife?!" his voice thundered and echoed.

Silence engulfed the four corners of my room. Tila walang umiimik, walang gustong sumagot. Lolo ba ni Sandro ang kaharap nila?

"She was caught in an encounter, Sir. It was too late when her partners found her," sagot muli ng ama ko.

"How long is she sleeping?"

"Three days, Sir."

"Does Alessandro know about any of this?"

A minute of silence took place before I heard Simon answer.

"Not yet, Sir."

"Now I know the reason why my grandson is a madman these days. When are you going to tell him, Anton? Cynthia?"

"We are still thinking of when and how, Tiyo," mommy answered.

"What's taking you two so long?" rinig ang pagkadismaya ng matanda.

I was just there patiently waiting for them to spit their reasons. Because even I, myself, don't know what's stopping them from telling me about what happened.

"It's because of their unborn child," halos pumiyok ang boses ni daddy nang sabihin niya iyon.

Parang huminto ang buong mundo ko. My mouth went agape pero kaagad ko iyong itinikom. I was gripping on my sheets while doing my best to stop my tears from forming.

"The baby didn't make it, Tiyo," Mommy broke down. "We didn't know that she was pregnant. If only we knew, we won't let her join that operation."
