Fire emblem Awakening: Unexpected Reunion

Sad.
Depressed.
Lonely.
These were a few adjectives that could be used to describe Tharja. She simply had nothing else to live for. Her love, her sole reason to live was gone. She remembered trying to hold back that scream when she saw him deal Grima a fatal blow. Of course no one noticed the change in her demeanour. Except Nowi and Tiki because they were empathic dragons.

She wished that for once Robin had been selfish. That her goofy, gullible, smart and fashion dead man was still here. That he had chosen to force Grima into a slumber rather than deal him that fatal blow. Ike had not been married when he had left her and she could not help but wonder about what could have been.

Suddenly a sharp rap on the door broke Tharja out of her musings. As she looked through the curtain she nearly keeled over in shock. There with his trademark grin and old dark clothes was her soulmate. She watched as he looked around and waited patiently before knocking once again. Tharja quickly smoothed out the wrinkles in her dress before opening the door.

' You're alive.' Tharja said flatly barely concealing the excitement and happiness in her voice. ' I just arrived back in Ylisstol after waking up in a field with Chrom, Lissa and Frederick.'

After inviting him in and exchanging pleasantries and polite conversation Tharja decided to break the ice.

'Any particular reason you decided to seek me out first?'

Robin blushed before replying.' When I arrived back I headed to the main hall and everyone rejoiced. I couldn't find you anywhere and Nowi told me that you were depressed. I decided I would try and cheer you up.'

' Oh,' Tharja said sadly, looking away.

' That was not the only reason. I also felt guilty and heartbroken about leaving you when I fought Grima and you obviously have deeper feelings for me than anyone else does.

That's why ( Robin began to get down on one knee) I have to ask you this. I know it's sudden but will you marry me?'

Tharja stared at him in shock. Robin's  smile began to fade and he began ' maybe this was a bad I- mmmppff. Tharja grabbed his lapel and then his shoulders before kissing him passionately.

After a minute she then broke off and began to cry on his chest.

' I've loved you for so long.' She sobbed.

As Robin comforted her, Tharja smiled.

Her life was complete.
