I sat in the corner of the room and watched people talk. My master came over to me with a tray and drink.
“Butterfly. Claude and the others will be coming with me soon. I need you to stay here and watch over the manor.”
I nodded, “Of course.”
I then watched my young master going over to Ciel Phantomhive. He ‘accidentally’ spilled some wine on him and I watched the two of them walk off.
This was just splendid. It was my chance to regain his trust in me and I was stuck babysitting a house.
I sighed, leaning back against the wall and closing my eyes.
“Butterfly!”
My eyes opened and I turned to see Lady Elizabeth, dressed in an indian maiden costume, complete with a feathered headpiece.
“Look at you! You’re so cute!”
“Oh, hello Lizzy.”
She gasped, “You’re talking!”
I nodded, “But of course. It’s a party. Talking is a social obligation.”
She giggled, “I suppose it is. Ciel is here too.”
She frowned as she looked around, “I don’t know where he is at the moment though. But I’ll take you to the others. She took my hand and pulled me over to the other people I had met.”
The Chinese man, Lau smiled at me, as did Ranmou.
“Hello again, milady.”
I took off my mask and bow my head, “Nice to see you all again.”
“It’s you!” I turned to the side to see Prince Soma and his butler Agni.
I smiled, “Hello, Prince Soma.”
“Butterfly!”
I turned to the other side and found the Phantomhive servants, “Nice to see you again, miss.”
I nodded to them with a smile.
“Milady, what connection do you have to the Earl?” Lau asked.
I smiled, “The Earl Trancy is an old friend of mine. It was only suitable that I come to see him.”
Lizzy’s eyes widened, “You’ve actually met the Earl?”
I laughed slightly, “Oh yes. Of course.”
There was a large crash and we turned to see Bardroy standing next to a table he had cut in half. Finnian dropped a case of wine and May-Rin was barely balancing a stack of plates.
I turned sharply, “Thompson, Timber, Cantebury!”
They turned and quickly cleaned and took the plates from May-Rin. Everyone applauded and they came over to where I stood. They leaned in close to me.
“We’ll be leaving soon.”
“To help the master.”
“Be careful, Butterfly.”
I nodded and they left me all alone. Everyone stared at me now.
“You know them?”
I nodded, “They are the Trancy family’s very capable servants.”
We all turned to the Phantomhive servants then.
“Honestly, what can be done with you three?”
They apologized with their heads to the ground.
“My prince.”
We all turned to Agni who now held a platter of some sort of bread.
“Ah, they’re done?”
Lau smiled, “Ah, the famous curry bread.”
“But how were you able to make them?” asked Lizzy’s maid.
Agni smiled, “Earlier I took the liberty of barrowing the mansion’s kitchen.”
I silently cursed Agni. If he had left even a crumb, Claude would be at my throat.
Soma smiled brightly, “If Ciel has a taste of some of these, perhaps his memory will return. At least I hope so.”
“Ah!” Finnian gasped, “We can help them!”
May-Rin nodded, “We can try to show the master such a good time that all his memories come back to him, yeas we can!”
Lizzy nodded.
Agni smiled, “Excellent, we shall all work together then.”
I frowned, “The young Earl has amnesia?”
Everyone looked at me and Lizzy gasped.
“That’s right, he probably doesn’t even remember your visit.”
I sighed, “He doesn’t remember anything of recent events?”
They shook their heads and I sighed. So he has no memory of me ever visiting his estate. Now only his butler knew about the time I almost killed the Earl.
It was then that I looked around to see that the triplets were nowhere in sight. Alright then.
So it has begun.
