I sat in the window seat of my master’s room, looking out the window.
Bravo Sebastian. You know my power, and what I am. How clever you’ve proven yourself to be.
My eyes narrowed.
However you almost spilled the secret of my power to that demon. If Claude found out, I have no doubt I wouldn’t like to see tomorrow. If he knew how I could help my master escape his spider web.
Sweet, delicate, fragile, little Butterfly.
That’s all they see me as. They don’t know the poison of my venom.
I sighed as the smell of blood wafted into the room.
Damn. So I suppose the duel was coming to the close. One of the demons would die and the other-
I stood sharply. It wasn’t demon blood I smelled. It was human.
I rushed from the room and hopped over the rail, not even bothering with the stairs. I cane to the drawing room in time to see Ciel plunge a sword into my master’s side.
The sward was pulled away and blood flowed like a waterfall from him. So much blood.
I pushed past the demons to better see my master as he collapsed, writhing in pain.
I tried to go to him but Claude held me back. I could only watch horrified as he cried.
“Please! Help me Claude! Help me I’m dieing!”
He shoved me back, and I fell to the floor.
“Yes, your highness.”
“Hold, Sebastian!” Ciel ordered. His harsh tone making both butlers stop.
“Until I’ve killed him, stay back!”
Sebastian bow slightly, “Very good my young lord.”
“No!” I tried to run to my master but Sebastian stopped me, holding me in place and placing a hand over my mouth.
I struggled but, as tears ran down my cheeks, there was nothing I could do.
Ciel stood, his sward pointed at the head of my master.
“Please,” he begged, “I don’t want to die. It hurts. Please spare me, Ciel!”
I struggled further and Sebastian whispered to me, “Stop struggling. We both know Claude won’t let him die.”
I shook my head fiercely. I didn’t know that. I was sure Claude didn’t care at this point. He only cared about Ciel’s soul; not my masters.
“You are truly pathetic, Alois.” Ciel scowled, “You killed my parents and you want me to spare you?!”
My master’s eyes went wide, “Wait, no, listen to me! You don’t understand! You’re being tricked by a demon; I’m telling you believe me!” he sobbed. “My parents were killed too, you know. My family burned to death along with the whole village. Someone stole them from me!”
Ciel lowered his sword a bit.
“Cant you see that we’re basically the same? I promise I won’t bother you anymore. I’ll apologize for everything. Just, please, Ciel. Please spare me. Please let me live!”
Ciel’s face went hard and I shook my head again.
Ciel chuckled, “Through your actions, you have damaged my pride. And now you’ll atone with your death!”
I bit Sebastian and he let me go. I lunged for me master.
“Alois!”
Claude pushed me back once again and held Ciel back.
Ciel struggled and slapped Claude with his blood stained hand. Sebastian quickly snatched him away.
Claude licked some of the blood and instantly froze; his eyes a terrible red.
Sebastian took Ciel away kicking and screaming. This left me alone with my master and Claude.
“Claude,” my master cried. “Come on, do something. Can’t you see I’ve been stabbed? Quickly, help me please!”
Claude didn’t move.
“Hoheo taralna, rondero tarel. Hoheo taralna, rondero tarel. Hoheo taralna-!” he was cut off as he threw up blood.
I rushed over to him and took his head in my lap, “Alois?”
Claude tried to take him but I held my master close, shielding his body with mine. “He didn’t ask for you! He’s mine!”
Claude scoffed, “I do recall he did. Repeatedly, even when you were so near by.”
I scowled at him, “You didn’t listen, didn’t help him. He called for me in the end.”
Claude smiled then, a blood curdling, awful smile.
“But does he know it was you, he was calling?”
