Chapter 12

Fox's POV:

I can't focus. All I keep seeing is Haydens bruised face. What happened to her? Is she in pain? Did she get into a fight? Abusive parents? Or boyfriend? I'm going crazy with all of these thoughts in my head that I can't focus on what Mr. Hyde is saying. I'm just sitting here staring at him. Until I look over to Sara's seat and she's not in it. And Sara doesn't skip class. She tears into me and Blaine if we're even 1 minute late for crying out loud! So why is she skipping? Is she with Hayden? Hayden. Maybe she's becoming a bad influence on Sara, getting her to skip.

I turn to Blaine. "Hey man, you know where Sara is?"

He just nods and whispers "She's at the beach with Hayden. They're surfing. Apparently they had some big girly heart to heart." I couldn't imagine Hayden being girly about anything. I want, no need answers to my questions and I was going to get them. Today.

"Blaine, my friend. We are going to the beach!" I cheered. He just rolled his eyes and nodded and replied with, "Fine but I need to go home for my board."

Class finished and Blaine and I headed to the front of the school, we were almost home free when Chloe stepped in front of us. I sighed and Blaine rolled his eyes. He wasn't in the mood for her shit today. Which I guess explained the way he talked to her.

"What the holy fuck do you want Chloe?" He heaved.

She looked at him shocked at how he spoke to her then looked at me as if to say, 'what-are-you-not-gonna-step-in-and-defend-me' so instead I just laughed and said "You heard the man." She seemed taken back.

"Where are you guys going? We have gym now, in the other direction." She smiled sweetly, trying not to show how curious she actually was.

"Not that it's any of your business but Fox and I are heading home back to mine." Blaine faked a big cheesy smile, Chloe seemed to accept the smile and flicked her hair over her should and beamed back. "Can I come? You know I hate gym, I'll bring Candy too."

"Er no, we don't want you there, so see ya!" At this I laughed and almost chocked on my own spit when Blaine said this. Chloe on the other hand seemed to go bright red with either anger or embarrassment. We took this as our chance to walk around her and head out the doors towards Blaine's car.

Blaine and I jump from his jeep and grab our boards and wet suits and look out towards the water. We see Sara and Hayden sitting on their boards talking. So we head down the beach towards the water and Hayden is storming out of the water with Sara running after her trying to catch up and repeating how sorry she is. What happened? When Hayden sees me and Blaine walking her way she quickly zips up her wet suit and tries to hide behind her board.

She has an angry glare on her face and storms past us and towards Sara's family shed and shoves the board into in and then steps in with her bag. I'm so confused and turn to Sara for answers. Face pale and eyebrows sky high, she sighs and shakes her head. "I pushed to hard and she just snapped, I- I thought that.. She's just so closed off I thought.." She's so flustered she can't even finish a sentence. She sighs again and covers her face with her hands.

Hayden steps out of the shed with her clothes on and helmet in one hand and wet suit in the other. Sara sighs as she steps out and goes to apologies again but stops when Hayden steps up to her. Hayden throws the wet suit and Sara's feet. "Here's your shit now fucking stay out of mine!" she snarled. Blaine stepped up behind Sara, not liking the way Hayden was talking to his girlfriend.

"Back off Hayden." He warns her in a deep, low voice. But she just scoffs.

"Or what? You'll hit me? Give it your best shot, I dare you. I'm more than happy to put you on your ass." she spat.

I think we would all agree with me saying that we were shocked with her response. We all look at her with wide eyes. She snatched up her school bag before storming off to her bike and we just watched her go, Sara with tears in her eyes.

"Okay what the fuck was that about?" I demanded. Me and Blaine turned to look at Sara waiting for answers.

"She told me everything."

"Everything?" We looked at her confused. "Whats everything?"

"Everything as in the childhood she had, her parents, her brother and the tough shit she went through." she looked at the sand with such pity. "We've lived like kings and queens compared to her. Even I didn't have it as bad as she did." This made me raise my eyebrows. Worse than Sara. Now it made sense, why she was so closed off and cold with us, well everyone.

"Tell us everything Sara."
