Fox's POV:

I watch Hayden run across the school parking lot to her bike. The one she looks oh so sexy on. Wait. What? What am I saying? I need to get this girl out of my head for good, but by God is it hard. She waves goodbye to Sara and rides off.

Bain hollers at me, so I can give him and Sara a ride home. We all jump in the car and the conversation automatically is about Hayden. I'm happy that Sara has a friend like Hayden around. She can finally have girlfriends instead of being with just me and Bain.

"So Fox what do you think of Hayden?" Sara questions from the back seat.

"She's okay I guess, I mean that whole thing with the principle was pretty weird." I avoided eye contact with her, because if I looked at her then she'd be able to see that I was lying. I think way more of her than that. On our way home we drive past the elementry school and we see Hayden laughing with a younger boy getting onto her bike. So that's her younger brother, Jack.

We pull up to my house and all get out with Sara leading the way to the front door, letting herself in. She's like part of the family anyway so it's not uncommon. We all shuffle in and I hear my mom shout from the kitchen. "Fox is that you?"

"Yeah mom! We're home!" I yell back.

Sara skips off to see mom, and me and Bain go up to my room to play some video games and listen to music. We can hear my mom and Sara laughing downstairs. "Dude, how long do you think Sara and Hayden will be friends? Cos man you know she doesn't make friends easily."

"I don't know Bain man. We'll just have to be there for if things go bad, but from what I've seen so far of them together they look like they could be close friends. They've even offered to teach each other how to surf and how to ride a motorbike. So I think she'll be fine."

Bain mulls it over in his head thinking of the best and worst case scenarios. Sara's the longest relationship he's ever had so I can understand why he's worried for her.

"BOYS! Dinner's ready so get your butts down here before it goes cold or Sara eats it all!" mom shouts up the stairs.

"Hey! I'm not that fat!" Sara shouts in protest. Me and Bain just laugh as we make our way downstairs for dinner. We're all laughing and joking together when mom asks the one question I wish she didn't. "So Fox how was school today?"

Sara, Bain and I all look at each other before Sara bursts and spills to mom all about the new girl. Hayden. And of course mom expresses her opinion without meeting her. "She sounds like she's gone through a lot and has a hard time opening up to people, and if or when she's ready to tell you she will. I was very much like her when I was your age you know. Just be there for her as friends and she'll come around."

We all looked at her speechless. We had never thought of it that way and what she was saying made sense but did Hayden really want friends or was she just passing through?
