Chapter 4

JAY'S POV

This life was starting to feel like my own again, minus the sleep. Between the nightmares and waking up to Aiden, neither Erin or I were getting much sleep most nights. I'm thinking of asking Hank for some time off so we can spend some quality family time together. Erin needs a break too, she has been through so much and I want her to relax.

E- Morning babe!

J- Good morning my love, how long have you been up?

E- not long, I just fed Aiden and put him back to bed. How'd you sleep?

J- Good...finally a night without nightmares

E- (snuggles into jay's side) I told you they'd get better, it just takes time. I think Dr. Charles is helping

J- I do too. I just get nervous, I don't want to hurt you or our son. I would never forgive myself

E- You won't and we're not going anywhere...except to work because if we don't get up now we're going to be late

J- You're right, wanna save time and water...

E- Mmm I'll meet you in the shower

"So what do we have on case?" Hank stood with his arms crossed waiting for any leads. "So far we have 5 dead girls, all between the ages of 17-21. Two of the girls have the same pimp, two others worked together at LITE dance club, and the last is a wild card. We don't know how she is linked, could be a random grab. No witnesses so far and waiting on DNA." 

Linsday's phone rang while I was talking, she looked like it was good news. "Got a hit on the DNA under Sarah Underwood's fingernails, it belongs to a Daniel Lockwood." Atwater starts to search him in the database without any luck. Ruzek on the other hand had found him but in another database. "Umm, he doesn't have any priors, but he also won't be much help to us. He died 3 years ago, death certificate says motor vehicle accident." Nothing about this made sense, how could his DNA be on the body from two days ago but him himself be dead? I decided to check one more thing. "Guys, Lockwood has a twin brother Allen. 2 priors assault and theft. LKA 885 Bishop St." Hank nods and tells Burgess to get a warrant.  "Vest up and head out. We go on my order" Hank yells. 

I look over to see Erin concentrated on the road, lost in her thoughts as she drives to the location. I put my hand on her thigh to bring her back to me and she smiles, "Sorry, I was daydreaming I guess." I chuckle, "What's on your mind?" She sighs, "Dreaming of sleeping in, being with you, I don't know; spending quality time with my little family. I feel like we've been on the go ever since you came home, and I just want the world to stop for a moment." I felt the same way and was relieved she did too. "Er, I feel the same way. How about we ask Hank for a long weekend and take a trip to the cabin?" At this point we arrived at location and she smiled while nodding. "I think that's perfect! Just the three of us." I squeezed her hand and we headed for the door with the team.

We found Allen, not before he led us on a mini chase. After Burgess and Ruzek interrogated him, he confessed and was booked for all five murders. 

"Babe you ready?" I walked over to Erin's desk checking if she was done her paperwork. "Yes, oh and I asked Hank about the time off. He gave us tomorrow though Monday!" I was surprised that we could have time off so soon but nonetheless grateful. "Lets go get our boy..." I put my arm around her waist and started thinking of all the things to show my family up at the cabin.
