BARRY watched Bruce jump over the railing with grace.
He used his cape to catch some of the air to ease his landing and landed on top of a Parademon. The speedster used his speed to race down to Silas and Jess. "It's okay! I got her." Barry reassured Silas. He picked Jess up with a heavy huff. Struggling to keep Jess up, he saw an opening a few feet ahead of them. "You all follow me!"
In the midst of chaos, Steppenwolf noticed how far away he had gotten from the Kryptonian's unconscious body. For a brief second, Steppenwolf turned his gaze to no longer see Jessica's unconscious form. He kicked Diana away with a roar. "Hold!" He barked towards a Parademon about to run after Barry and the hostages. "She's mine!"
"I don't think so!" Diana shouted.
Barry placed Jessica down in a corner with a heavy sigh. "Wow, you look so light. Why are you so heavy?" He mumbled to himself. Before Barry can turn around, Victor took a Parademon that was ready to attack. "Woah! Thanks."
"Everybody, move!" Victor ordered.
Barry pointed his finger over to the exit with a nod of his head. "A little quicker."
Silas bent down to examine Jessica, that was just starting to come to her senses. "Jesus H. Christ." She grumbled while holding her head.
"Are you good?" Barry asked.
"Yeah, I need my sword." She grunted, trying to stand up.
Silas looked at Victor. "I've got this, keep moving."
Barry pointed to the exit where all the hostages were waiting. "This way." Before Barry could lead Jess to the exit, she stopped him.
"I need to go back."
"But Bruce said...-"
"Just get the hostages out." Jess ordered. She noticed the nervous look on Barry's face before she sighed. She placed her hand over his with a small smile on her face. "I promise, I'll be okay. Just make sure they get out. I believe in you Barry."
Jess turned around, ignoring her pounding headache as she ran back to the battle. Barry watched her leave with a confident look on his face. "She believes in me... alright Barry, let's do this thing!"
Jess picked up her sword from the entrance, along with her wounded shield, and ran over to the stairway that leads up to where the team was fighting. Jess stabbed and sliced Parademons that occupied the stairs before getting to the landing.
She noticed Diana crawling backward, trying to get to her sword while keeping her eyes trained on Steppenwolf. Sucking in a deep breath, Jess swung her shield at Steppenwolf's head. It bounded off the side of his head, cocking it to the side for a second.
He turned around just as her shield came flying back at her. "Kryptonian." He growled.
