JESSICA turned her head with a noisy sigh.
She had the only ear-splitting headache in the world while her right shoulder. She flutters her eyes open to take in the sight of countless spears and arrows arched at her frame.
She squints her eyes to block the sun to see if what she was seeing wasn't an illusion. "Who are you?" A blonde woman, with a deep Mediterranean accident, asked sharply.
Jess stared at all of the women with wide eyes. "Um..." One of the females snatched her by her bad arm, dispatching a sudden jolt of pain to fly through her nervous system. "Hey, easy!" They shouted in defense, getting ready to attack. "Woah, I'm sorry!"
The women all watched her diligently as she gradually stood up. "Listen, I was on a boat, lightning hit the top of the sailing pole, I passed out, now I'm here." Jess explained with her hand up to signify she had nothing of danger. "How I got here is beyond me."
The warrior in charge glowered at Jessica before nodding her head towards her. "We will take you to our queen." She decided it would be smarter to grab Jess by her left arm instead. "She will determine your fate."
"That makes me feel so much better." Jess grumbled under her breath while the other women got on their horses. They tied Jessica's arms to her torso with a regular brown lasso as she stared at them in exasperation. "You know, there's no need to do that. I won't hurt any of you. I couldn't even if I wanted to."
When she got no response, she rolled her eyes. "You're all charming, really... really charming."

THERE was an eerie silence that fell over the throne room where Queen Hippolyta watched Jessica's expressions.
"So," Jess started. "I've seen this interrogation scene play out before." She felt the hilt of a sword come into contact with her face. Jess hissed at the feeling as she hung her head low.
"You speak when spoken to." A woman with long black hair growled.
"Menalippe." Hippolyta cautioned. She turned her gaze back to Jessica's. "I am...-"
"Hippolyta," Jessica cut off. "Queen of the Amazons. I know." The Amazonians began to look around in astonishment. "I know Diana of Themyscira, The Wonder Woman." Hippolyta clenched her jaw. "I am Kalura-El of Krypton, daughter of El."
Hippolyta placed her hand on the handle of her sword. "Why is that of importance?"
Jessica darted her blue eyes down to the granite floor. "My brother and I were earth's greatest defenders. For three years, we saved mankind from any and every event that posed a threat to the life of man... until a couple of months ago." She sucked in a deep breath. "My brother sacrificed his life to kill the monster named Doomsday to save the lives of millions, but his sacrifice became mine as well."
