The doctors moved Kara to a Critical Care Unit now. It mostly like a regular hospital room, but doctors monitered patients more.
Kara had still not woken up yet. It has been three days. Chi Yun walked into the room and sat down on the bench.
"Hello Kara." Chi Yun said, praying that she heard him in her dreams. "Every day I wake up thinking about you. I hope you think of me if you wake up."
Chi Yun smacked himself as hard as he possibly could, leaving a mark for red than a tomato on his arm. He began to cry at the pain. "Why am I doing this? You will wake up, you must wake up! Not if!"
He looked up at the white ceiling. "Why am I doing this?" he blankly stated. "Kara, look who I have become in a matter of a few days. I have been lost into shadow. That is what you would have quoted- from you favorite movie." Visions of Kara showing Chi Yun her favorite move popped into his head. He remembered that time in China when she brought it for everyone to watch at the Beylin Temple. Chi Yun did not like the movie, but he tried to mask it in front of Kara.
"Kara, you truly are someone. I guess I understand now that life is full of irony, and I have to survive- no. Not just survive, but thrive."
Chi Yun closed his now blood shot eyes. "That is right, thrive."
For a moment-just a mere moment, Chi Yun felt a sense of tranquility, that everything was alright.
"Chi Yun enjoys talking with you Kara."
Chi Yun opened his eyes because he felt something glistening onto his eye lids.
It was Kara's bey, Spiral Longmas 145FD, and her little backback that she always carried her notebooks/sketchbooks/pencils in.
She has never showed me any of her poems before, not even once. She is usually writing them in here. He thought.
Chi Yun knew it was wrong, but he opened her miniature backpack. There it was, the book of poems that she wrote.
Chi Yun opened to where the bookmark lay, and found a single, short poem.
He began to read the neatly written piece:
Even now,
I lay upon the broken cushions
Here and now,
they sit and wait for my return
Why wait?
Why waste your time?
Perhaps there is hope.
But perhaps there is none as well
Time shall tell
Small droplets of tears dropped onto the paper, making it wavy and soiled.
"I am sorry K-Kara, I think I have ruined your paper!" he smiled.
Chi Yun wondered: had Kara knew that something was wrong with her?
