The child grunted as he was repeatedly kicked in the side by a stormtrooper commander. I had watched him steal something, with an unfortunate foolishness, he had hid the item behind his back. The Commander noticed this rather quickly and the child's punishment swiftly followed.

I jumped down from the roof, revealing my position as I landed over the boy. The barrel of the blaster connected with the Commander's plastoid chest plate. The boy gasped in surprise, scrambling to his feet to get behind my gray cloak. The boy grabbed onto the edge of the cloth, his hands trembling viscously.

"Angry mother, huh? We don't get those very often." The Commander scoffed, I stayed silent, letting the boy take hold of my hand.

"You'll leave this boy alone," I demanded with a wave of my hand, "forever." I added, the Commander snorted.

"ST-7641, I need reinforcements in Sector 6."

"Yes, sir. We're on our way." The Force took over, crushing the com link on his arm. The Commander gasped, stumbling away from my blaster.

"Jedi." He snarled, rushing for me. Squeezing the boy's hand in reassurance, I whipped out my purple blade. With nearly unmatched precision, the lightsaber burned his wrist. He screamed in agony, jumping back to assess the wound.

"Time to go." I said, putting the lightsaber back under my cloak.

"I know a place." The boy announced, I nodded for him to lead us there. With that, the boy tugged me along. The stars above us watched as we raced through the streets of Lothal.

"There!" He yelled, pointing to a window with a small hole in it. The hole was enough for the boy to fit, but not me. I blasted the window, the satisfying shatter a little too loud for my taste.

"Follow me!" He said, climbing down the ladder into an underground level of an abandoned home. It reminded me of what someone else had once told me about their own home on Lothal. The underground level was large and empty expect for a pile of what seemed to be junk in the left corner. The person had described their basement as a lot smaller than this, but I couldn't say I wasn't grateful for the extra space.

"Can I ask you a question?"

"Sure." I sighed, keeping a hand on my pistol. With the other stormtroopers on their way, I couldn't be too careful.

"Are you the-,"

"The Grey Phantom? Well, to answer your question, boy, yes. Yes, she is." I whipped around to see the Commander wielding a glass shard. His blaster was pointed to the boy, who had now backed himself into a wall.

"Come closer and I shoot." He warned, I smirked, brushing the hair out of my face nonchalantly. Then I made my move, running toward him, I used The Force to push his blaster the other direction, causing the blast to be shot five feet away from the boy. He switched targets, pointing his blaster at me but I dodged.

Ramming into his chest, I pinned him against the wall. The Commander, however, expected just that. Hooking my leg with his foot, he pulled my leg forward. I yelped in surprise as I fell to the floor. Adrenaline and panic took over before I could react rationally. The Commander pinned me to the ground, slashing my neck with the shard of glass he wielded.

I cried out in pain, letting the burning energy within take the next hit. The Force threw him off of me, flinging him into a wall. Before he could get back to his feet, I pulled my pistol out, stunning him with one shot.

"More'll be coming." The boy's words became slurred as my knees hit the pavement, everything blurring into nothingness.

"Stormtroopers..., close in on last position. S-Shouldn't find us." I gasped, the boy cursed under his breath as he inspected the cut I had just won. I knew what was happening, I was losing blood too fast. If I didn't get my hands on some bacta spray soon, it would be the end of The Grey Phantom.

"This- sting." His words filtered through my ears, but I was only catching a few. A hissing sound filled my surroundings and a venomous sting infiltrated my wound. The painful sensation was replaced with a cooling one as I realized what had just happened.

"No," I grunted, pushing his hands away from me. The bottle of bacta spray was still in his hand, I finally understood why he cursed. He had just stolen it, probably to sell at the blackmarket.

"You need that."

"You saved my life, I think you need yours too." He reasoned with me, pausing before adding onto his sentence.

"More than that. Lothal needs you." I chuckled, if only he knew what I had done before I got here. Then he might understand that my family was operating just fine without me, I wasn't needed anywhere. If I wasn't here, someone else would take my place.

"Don't think that." The boy said, moving his brown hair out of his face.

"Not many people have the heart to do what you do."

"How did you-," I began but he cut me off,

"The Force resides in all living beings. Some more than others."

"Thank you." I smiled weakly, letting silence take over our conversation. Like many of my conversations with my Master, I would leave with something invaluable that I'd try to forget.
