"Celeste! Wait!" I didn't stop, maybe if I ran fast enough I could run from the past that Ezra was. He held onto the hope that Spectre-7 would return to him. But that girl would never come back. Some scars don't heal. Suddenly, Ezra stood in front of me, emerging from behind a stray boulder. I pulled the lightsaber out of it's place, my thumb hovering over the ignition button.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, doesn't need to result in a fight. I already won once, it'd be embarrassing for you to lose twice." He said, putting his hands up in a surrendering fashion.
"I hate you."
"I know."
"You annoy me to death."
"It didn't used to be that way. What changed, Celeste?"
"Time changes everything."
"Exactly. We could've helped you." He tried to reason with me, which only made me more stubborn in my resolve to escape from him.
"I couldn't hurt anybody else." I hissed, walking away from him.
"You take that same risk piloting a ship or shooting a blaster." I froze mid-stride, memories came flooding back.
***
"It's the same risk you take by shooting a gun or flying a ship."
***
"You're just like one of them. You don't even care about the lies... you just want the power. Celeste, you're a monster."
"I'm the monster? No, Ezra, you are. Getting in the way to restore the peace. If you're against me, then my fight is with you now. Not the Empire."
***
"It's okay. It's okay. Come here."
***
I whipped back around, pointing a finger at Ezra accusingly.
"You."
"What about me?"
"Stop trying!"
"What? Am I bothering you?"
"Yes, in fact, you are."
"It's my job in this family."
"I'm not part of that family anymore."
"You can be," He shouted, "give us a chance."
