𝐁.𝐂.𝐂.

On the way to Sook's home it was quiet, I had questions floating around in my head, but I didn't dare to ask her these questions.

"How much did you hear?" Then suddenly Sook asked me what made me startle. "I only noticed how you don't want to forgive someone... that's it" I lied.

I got everything from the present to me, but who would openly admit that?

Sook nodded slightly "I don't know if it's smart to ask..." I started hesitantly, unsure whether I should really ask the question.

Sook looked at me expectantly, I swallowed hard again before I finally formulated my question "How did your mother die?".

Sook gave me a blank look which makes me even more nervous, then I shook my hands in panic

"If you don't want to tell it is okay... I just wanted to have asked it once"

It became quiet again, but more uncomfortable than before.

I swallowed hard again and took my eyes off Sook towards the apartments next to us. I heard a sigh from my left so I looked again.

"It was a tough time for our family, my dad cheated on mom and left us for his affair, mom lost her job, and I was diagnosed with depression and had to take active antidepressants... mom got raped of her boss at her new job and was abused by customers... I had to struggle with my usual problems at school for as long... mom became an alcoholic at some point and dropped everything in life... it didn't bother me, but she couldn't do it any more herself... I was the person who found her lifeless... since that day I have been wondering if I could have helped in any way... since that day I have been wondering if there is anything worse than depression and if my mother has it had bad grief..."

I felt uncomfortable, my heart was beating heavily, my hands were sweating, I had a lump in my throat and could hardly concentrate on walking.

It almost made me puke what I had to hear, I was scared... of the harsh reality.Sook suddenly stopped, which I did the same to her, she stood in front of me and smiled slightly, I couldn't answer it.

"You probably didn't expect that, did you? I'm sure she had more problems that I didn't know about"

"How do you live now?" I could finally get out of myself after a while, Sook just shrugged her shoulders. "Somehow" she said and went on with it.

"Was the boss arrested at some point?"

"Nope"

"Have you filed a complaint?"

"Yep, but he had blackmailed mom with me... he said he would do worse things to me than he did to her already"

I saw Sook hold her neck with a disgusted look.

"Did he touch you?"

"Not only" Sook said bluntly and went on, with a shocked look I ran after her and grabbed her wrist. She turned to me and slapped my hand right away from her.

"Don't you dare to you touch me there again" she hissed and looked at me angrily, I shrank back slightly. "Sorry" I whispered ashamed and withdrew my hand.

"You can't change anything anymore anyway... that's life" said Sook and went on her way, I followed her.

After a while we got to her home, if you can call it home. In front of me was an old apartment which is probably inhabited by many poor people.

There was a lot of rubbish and all kinds of alcohol bottles in front of the apartment. One of the older men who got drunk looked at us.

"Are you finally bringing a man into your house?" the man slurred with a cheeky and broad grin as he pointed a bottle at me.
