Chapter 14

The Dream

"How can you be so foolish. This will be the end of us."

"We don't need to just rule these basic people anymore brother. We could rule the world. We could get rid of the gods. We're stronger than them."

"We are here to oversee that there is balance. What you are doing is not balance. It's arrogance, pride, and selfishness."

The vision zooms in to see who is speaking. In the room there are seven people with two of them standing in front of their thrones with armor, capes, and weapons.

The man on the left has pitch black armor and cape. With a pitch black super tall sword that looks incredibly to heavy to use.

The man on the right is in a solid gold armor and cape. With a double bladed sword that's name can be seen on the center of the sword. 'Royalty'.

"You may call it selfishness brother, but when we don't have to help those who do not deserve our help you won't be complaining."

"Yes I will Umbra. Our job is to give balance and protection to those who need it. That is the code we follow."

"So you've said." The man called Umbra sneers. "But I think we need a new code. In fact I think we need a new leader. Don't you agree brother?"

"Choose your next few steps wisely Umbra."

"Or what? Your going to hurt me? You never had the guts Alicanto." Umbra says.

"If I must. I will. For the world." Alicanto says threateningly.

"Then let's fight brother for the title of  high king."

"That is not how it works."

"Then I will take it by force." Umbra screams. "Terra, Bolt, Glacies it's time."

Three of the five people watching the argument disappear in their own way.

The one called Terra who has green eyes and brown hair has the ground swallow her up. She then appears next to Umbra with green armor and a cape on. Her weapon of choice is a staff with a very sharp point on the end.

The next one to disappear is Bolt who disappears by lightning. He appears next to the others in a gray armor and cape. With all types of knives.

The last one is Glacies. Who disappears through a snow storm he appears again in snow white armor and cape. With a bow.

Alicanto's grip on his sword tightens as he sees his siblings betray him and their duty. 

"Traitors" he hisses.

"Now now brother. That's not very polite." Terra taunts.

Alicanto opens his mouth to retort when someone talks before him.

"Fear not Alicanto. Some of us do know our duty."

Alicanto turns to see his sister Kyma in her sea blue armor and cape with her sword that is able to detach and fight from long distances, he notices her watching Glacies sadly. He also sees Fawkes in his bright orange and red armor with his double sided axe.

Alicanto nods.

"I give you three one chance. Surrender and everything so far will be forgiven. You will all still be on the council." Umbra says.

"Never."

"Very well." Umbra says while his eyes turn cold and angry. "Attack."

Ariana jumps awake. She looks around a reminds herself that she is in the infirmary with Percy and Isabella. They were supposed to be discharged later today and then her, Sophia, Isabella, and Percy would all be going to the common room to relax and watch the egg.

Ariana rubs her bracelet and thinks about her dream, but the more she thinks about it the more she can't remember.

Ariana decide that later tonight was the night she will call Chiron.

Which is exactly what she does. Later that night after the group had watched the egg sit there for an hour. They decided to go to bed when Percy had said they should make an omelet.

Ariana goes to the windowed area of the common room and uses the little light the sun has left to start a rainbow.

"O, Iris, Goddess of the Rainbow, accept my offering." She threw a drachma into the rainbow which disappears in a golden shimmer. "Show me Chiron at Camp Half Blood."

Through the mist Ariana sees the camp. The sun is shining down on the strawberry fields and the Long Island sound in the distance. Ariana doesn't see anyone for a moment, but then she sees Chiron waking past the Iris Message while talking to a camper.

"Chiron!"

Chiron looks up and smiles at Ariana. He looks at the camper and tells him something. The camper then runs off and Chiron looks at Ariana.

"Hello Ariana how are you."

"I'm good Chiron." Ariana then proceeds to fill in Chiron on everything that has happened except for her dream.

He looks at her gravely. "I feared as much. Dark times are coming."

"What does that mean."

"You will learn in time. For now tell me the real reason you called."

"Well I'm worried about Percy, Chiron."

"What happened." He asks while his beard looks like it grays a little.

"There was a monster. While he was in the lake he killed it. I think it was a kindly one. From the description he gave in his sleep."

Ariana hears Chiron mumble about the summer solstice and something being true.

Ariana decides to continue talking. "I don't want him alone this summer. There was a kindly one in the school! I mean from the way he acts and the amount of schools he's been expelled from that itself proved he's one of us, but now we know for sure, and the monsters will know too."

"We would only make matters worse by rushing him." Chiron tells her.

"But he may not have time. The monsters may start coming."

"The monsters will not be a problem. Just stay close to him. Let him enjoy his ignorance while he still can."

"But Chiron, if he saw her..."

"His imagination." Chiron insists. "The mist over the students and staff will be enough to convince him of that."

"Chiron I don't want to mess this up anymore than I already have. I should've dealt with the kindly one a long time ago."

"Andromeda relax. You will not fail. For now let's just worry about keeping Percy alive until next fall...."

Thud!

"Shhh"

Chiron gives Ariana a look. "Ariana that was rude. I taught you better than..."

"I think someone's listening."

Chiron's face turns into one of understanding. "I will talk to you later. Bye Ariana."

"Bye Chiron."

The Iris Message fades. Ariana walks over to where she heard the thud and does not see anything. She goes and sits down in a chair holding her head between her hands.
