Chapter 1

A Bird Interrupts my Dinner

I was sitting alone at the Hera table trying to figure out what words Annabeth was trying to mouth to me. When a large owl came in and landed on my spaghetti. I jumped up and was about to yell at the Stolls for trying to prank me when I notice a letter attached to the birds leg. I grab the letter and open it.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore

(Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorcerer, Chief Warlock, Supreme Mugwump, International Confederation of Wizards)

Dear Ms. Potter,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins September 1st. We await your owl by no later than July 31st.

I keep staring at the letter until I realize that everyone else is silent also. They're staring at me. I blush and look at Chiron. He seems to have gone paler since the beginning of dinner. He stands up and calls to me.

"Andromeda follow me. Everyone else finish dinner and go to campfire."

I follow him with a sense of foreboding. I look back to see Luke and Annabeth both giving me confused looks. I shrug my shoulders at them and walk into the big house.

I walk in to see Chiron mumbling to himself and pacing back and forth in horse form with his tail swishing around. 

"Why now. I know she's of age, but...."

"Chiron!"

He looks over at me and sighs.

"Sit Andromeda I have much to tell you."

I want to correct him and tell him my name is Ariana, but I know that will probably not go over well. I sit down and notice he has sat down in his wheelchair.

"Do you have the letter my dear."

I hand him the letter. He looks at it for a few minutes. I can't take waiting anymore with my ADHD so I ask him.

"What is it Chiron."

He looks at me. "It is a letter for a school."

"Well duh. I mean first off why does it say Witchcraft and Wizardry, and second off why would I go to this school? Camp is my home.

"Andromeda I'm going to be doing a lot of explaining in the next couple of minutes, so no questions. Just listen."

"Okay."

Chiron sighs. "9 years ago I received word from an old friend that there was a demigod who's parents were killed in a war. That demigod was you."

"But you said my parents died in a car crash!"

"Andromeda what did I say about interrupting?"

"Not to do it." Ariana mumbles.

"Good. Now let me finish. This war was in Hecate's world, and this war was dark. There were a lot of causlaties of what her world calls muggles. These casualties were caused by pure bloods. Who believed they should not have to hide from muggles and should be in charge. There were people who opposed these pure bloods and some of those people were your father and step-mother. Unfortunately. your parents had to go into hiding when a prophecy was foretold of a boy that would have the power to vanquish the dark lord and would be born as the seventh month dies."

"But why would they have to go into hiding because of a prophecy about that."

"Andromeda do not interrupt. They had it go into hiding because Lily and James Potter just had a child. This child's name was Harry James Potter and he was born on July 31st."

Ariana's  jaw dropped and her eyes swelled up with tears.

"You, your father, you step-mother, and Harry all went into hiding. Y'all were there for about a year when you were discovered. The so called Dark lord broke into your house and killed your father and step-mother. He then went to kill you and your half-brother, but something strange happened."

"What?" Ariana asked with a little bit of hope that at least her brother might be alive.

"You both survived. When he tried to kill your brother  the curse reflected and killed the Dark lord instead."

"What happened to my brother? Why isn't he here, and why did you say curse? That's like wizards and stuff.

Chiron does not scold her for interrupting he knows she's freaking out. "My child, calm down. Your brother is safe. He is with his mother's aunt and uncle. The reason he isn't here is because he is mortal as you already know. For you final question I said curse is because witches and wizards are real. Your father was a wizard and so was your step-mother. Well actually she was a witch, but you get the idea."

"I'm a witch?"

"Yes, Andromeda. You are a witch."

"So the letter is for a school, but where is this school located."

"I am not aware of it's exact location, but I do know it is in Europe."

"EUROPE" I scream. "I can't go to Europe. What about my friends and life here?"

"You must my child. It is necessary for the role you will play in the future. You will need all the training you can get and I have trained you as much as I can in my line of expertise."

"What do you mean my role in the future."

Chiron pales. "I have said to much. Gods forgive me."

"Chiron what are you talking about?"

"Enough questions for today Andromeda. I will contact my friend so you can get help retrieving your supplies. You will leave tomorrow, June 26th, to get your supplies and then will return that evening. If you need me Iris Message me." Chiron exits the door swiftly.

Ariana stands there for 10 minutes with her jaw dropped before she smiles. She has a brother that still lives!

This is a year before Percy comes to camp.
