Classes
The Gryffindor first years followed the prefect through the chattering crowds, out of the great hall, and up the marble staircase. Ariana saw the other first years moving a little slow.
'They're probably tired and full of food.' she told herself.
Ariana was the only one who had the decency to be a little shocked when the people in the portraits pointed and whispered at them.
They kept climbing more staircases with everyone getting more tired and more tired when they finally stopped in front of a portrait. On the portrait was a very fat woman in a pink silk dress.
"Password?" She said.
"Bellator." The prefect said.
The portrait swung open to reveal a round hole in the wall. All of the first years scrambled through it. When they went through the hole they found themselves in the Gryffindor common room, a cozy round room full of squashy chairs.
The prefect directed the boys through one room to their dormitory and the girls through the other. At the top of the spiral staircase, they were obviously in one of the towers, they found their beds at last, five four-posters hung with deep red, velvet curtains. Their trunks had already been brought up. The girls to tired to do anything brushed their teeth, put on their pajamas, and got in bed.
"Night." Ariana hears one of the girls say before her eyes close and she falls asleep.

"There she is!"
"Where?"
"Right next to that scrawny black hair dude."
"I'm not that scrawny am I?" Percy asks looking at Isabella.
"Of course not." Isabella tells him.
"Yes your are." Sophia and Ariana tell him.
Percy pouts.
Whispers had followed Ariana as soon as she had left her dormitory this morning. People would line up outside of class rooms and stand on their tiptoes to get a good look at her. Some would even come up and ask her how she was doing. Ariana could tell that they were just doing it so that they could meet her brother. She wished they wouldn't though, she was having a hard enough time getting to all her classes without people besides Percy and Isabella bothering her.
There were a hundred and forty two staircases at Hogwarts. Wide, sweeping ones, narrow rickety ones, some that led somewhere different on a Friday, some with a vanishing step halfway up that you had to remember to jump. Then there were doors that wouldn't open unless you asked politely, or tickled them in the right place. There were also some doors that weren't doors at all, instead they were solid walls just pretending. It was also hard to remember where everything was because it seemed to move around a lot. The people in portraits kept going to visit each other and Ariana was sure she saw a coat of armor walk once.
The ghost didn't help either. Even Nearly Headless Nick tried to stay as far away from Ariana and Percy as possible, but he was fine with all the other first years. The poltergeist called Peeves also seemed to had a larger amount of dislike for Ariana and Percy then the other students. He would always try to trip them or embarrass them somehow, so they hand gotten used to looking behind them every five minutes.
To add another problem, the group had already gotten in trouble with the caretaker. They had been trying to take a shortcut and had ended up at his office. It didn't help that after Filch had yelled at them Percy called him an 'ugly troll' which caused Isabella and Ariana to snicker. The four of them had to run away from Filch's office with tears of laughter after seeing Filch's reaction.
