shes sick and you take care of her

I headed back up stairs with a bowl of chicken noodle soup and a glass of water. I heard a cough from her in our shared room.

"Hey baby," I said opening the door. "I made you some soup, and got you some water." I said placing them on the bed side table.

I leaned down, kissing her forehead. My eyes widened, and I quickly placed the back of my hand on her forehead to make sure what I felt was correct. "Liv, baby, you're burning up."

She gave a weak nod and sighed, sitting up slowly. "Yeah I probably need some more medicine." She rasped.

I pushed a stray piece of her hair from her face. "I'll go get that for you."

I rushed down stairs and into the kitchen. I grabbed to bottle of cold medicine and brought it upstairs.

I came back into the bedroom to find Olivia eating the soup with her hair now pulled back, and a smile on her face. Seeing her smile, although sick, made me smile.

I opened the bottle and took out the pills she would need. I gently placed them in her hand, and gave her the water.

She balanced the soup bowl on her lap while she took them. "Thank you."  she said. After she took her sip of water she handed the glass back to me, which I placed on the table.

"Is there anything else that you need, my sweet girl?" I asked sitting on the edge of the bed beside her. I took one of  her hands in mine to hold, occasionally rubbing her knuckles with my thumb.

"Hmm, some cuddles would be nice. It's been a few days, so I'm not contagious anymore." She said drawing circles on my thigh.

"Of course," I giggled crawling into bed with her.

Normally, she holds me. It's always been that way. She liked being able to protect me and keep watch, but today, she was the one in need of holding.

I pulled her into my arms and rested my chin on the top of her head, kissing it every once in a while.

"Thank you princess," She said cuddling into my neck, kissing it softly, but not sexually. "I love you." She mumbled.

"I love you too baby."
