Julia's Pov, August 15

I said goodbye to someone I didn't recognise.

Monique took my hand and we walked to the car. She opened the right car door and opened it. She wanted to put me in a child seat, but I spoke up.

"Uhm, I can sit by myself, thank you. I don't really need a child seat, do I?" I said, moving over to the left side.

The next things she said came out as a blur. I only understood words like 'left, live, now.'

What was she trying to say?

"Is that alright with you? You must be honest, otherwise your whole life will go downhill."

"What?" I asked.

"Living with us" she repeated, and my brows shot up.

I undid my seatbelt as I shook my head and opened my car door.

"Uh uh." That is not going to happen.

I walked back to the house I came from and banged on the door. "Please open up!"

I looked behind me and saw that Monique was getting out of the car and approaching me.

I continued slamming on the door and said, "I need someone. This woman! She's trying to take me!"

I worriedly looked behind me and saw that Monique was getting closer.

I kept banging the door, but it wasn't opening. No one was going to help me.

Suddenly I felt someone standing behind me. I closed my eyes and didn't turn around.

"Julia. Don't be ridiculous."

"No!" I screamed, banging on the door again.

"Please open up!" I yelled.

"Julia, stop this right now! Let's go home"

She took my hand and dragged me back to the car. I tried to squirm, but she didn't let go.

"Your house is not my home! It never has been, and it never will be!" I screamed in her face.

I felt her hand tighten.

"Please don't take me. please." I pleaded, but she was showing no mercy. She threw me in the car and slammed the door shut. I tried to open the door, but it wasn't working. She must've locked it.

I tried to scream but nothing was happening.

Monique opened her car door and sat down. Buckling her seatbelt and putting her foot on the pedal. We were going full throttle in no time.

"MONIQUE!"

"Monique! you can't go this fast! This is dangerous!" I screamed. She looked at me with furrowed brows through the rear-view mirror. Then she looked at the road again.

I closed my eyes, trying not to think about the possibility of dying.

When I opened them again, I saw that the wipers going back and forth.
