Julia's pov, March 26

I had my first day at school today.

Ron brought me to school. I don't know why Monique couldn't bring me, but to be honest, I don't want to be near her.

I was scared. This was a new school. New teachers. New friends. What if I don't make any friends?

Ron and I entered the school. It was bigger than my old school. We walked and walked until we stopped in front of one of the classrooms.

He knocked on the door and a woman, who was sitting at the front, turned her head. She was wearing a dress. With blue and white. Her hair was long and brown. She was young, I think.

"You must be Julia." She smiled as she got up.

I nodded with a small smile.

"And you are..." She asked, looking at Ron.

"I'm Ron." He said, as he shook her hand.

"You're the father?" She asked.

My eyes widened and I said, "No he's just a friend." As I giggled.

"Her... mom couldn't bring her to school today, so I'm here instead." He said, smiling to himself.

"Oh, my apologies." She said.

"That's quite alright."

"I'm Ruby, and I'm going to be your teacher this year." She said, looking at me. "Can I take her over from you?" she asked looking at Ron. I looked at Ron who smiled at me.

"Yeah? It's going to be loads of fun, okay?" he said, squatting down to hug me. I hugged his round belly and said, "Yep."

"Stephen will come and pick you up when you're done." He rubbed the back of my head and let go.

Stephen drives me everywhere.

I waved at Ron until I couldn't see him anymore.

"You can take off your backpack and hang it with the others she said, leading me into the classroom.

I took it off and hung it next to a bright pink one.

"You can sit at one of the open spots." Ruby then said.

I looked around the classroom and saw that there were a couple of spots left.

A girl with blonde hair waved at me and said, "You can sit here." With a smile.

I smiled back and walked to her.

I sat down next to her and placed my hands on my table.

She held out her hand for me to shake and said, "My name is Cassandra, but you can call me Cassie."

I shook her hand and said, "I'm Julia, but you can call me..."

How can she call me?

"Jules?" I suggested and she nodded.

"Hi Jules. Are you new? I've never seen you here before."

I looked at my table and said, "Yeah, I just moved here."

"Oh cool! From where?"

"Somewhere else in London."

"What did it look like there."

"My house was very nice and warm. I had a blue bedroom with a lot of photos of my family and my cat." I smiled.

"A cat?" she asked.
