"mom, she's my-well, it's my girlfriend." nick replies.
his mother's face reads a confused expression.
"hi, i'm carry." i say, reaching my hand out to shake hers.
"hello, nice to meet you." she says bluntly.
"right back at you." i try to say in a nice voice, but it comes out the complete opposite.
"so, i wanted to bring her to meet you guys. where's dad?" nick asks.
"hunny! there's company!" she shouts.
i hear footsteps & mumbling from behind her. his father reaches the door shortly.
"nick, how lovely it is to see you!" he grins. "& well hello, nice to meet you. may i ask who you are?"
"yes. hi, i'm carry...nicks girlfriend." i respond in a shy manor.
"oh..well hello! nice to meet you, carry." he grins.
"alright, we'll i just wanted to stop by for a few. we're going to explore around indiana while we're here. we'll come back before we head back home. i love you, guys!" nick says.
"nice meeting you all!" i say.
"nice meeting you! & we love you nice!" his father says happily. his mother waves as we back out of the drive way.
"well, that couldn't have gone any better.." i say sarcastically.
"carry, i'm sorry. they're not used to me bringing girls around because i really was never into dating people. so, i guess it's new to them. i'm sorry, i wish their reaction would've been more of what you were hoping for.." nicks voice sounds sad.
"hey," i say, grabbing his hand. "it's okay, i'm glad i got to meet them anyway. i'm not perfect, & neither were their reactions, but at least i got to actually meet them." i smile.
"it would've been way worse if we would've told them we were dating like in 3 years when we're already gonna be married." nick chuckles.
