i finish making dinner for nick & i, spaghetti is what i made. nicks favorite:)
"here you go babe." i say, hanging him his plate.
he grins down at the plate.
"thank you! i love it, & you." he says.
i smile and give him a kiss.
we eat in silence. but a peaceful silence.
we finish our food and go in the living room to watch greys anatomy. we watch three episodes before anyone says anything.
"can we cuddle?" i ask.
"well of course, baby." nick smiles.
we cuddle up really close and nick kisses my forehead.
"how're you feeling?" i ask.
nick tenses up, "i'm okay."
"that's good, babe." i smile.
we watch greys anatomy until ten and we both head off to bed. i hope he feels safe here. with me & in our home.
he falls asleep instantly. i lie awake & stare at him.
he's so perfect. i love his hair, his features on his face, his body. everything. more than anything, his love.
i stare at nick for awhile before almost going to sleep. i feel the bed move and glance over at nick. he's moving. i watch him twitch and move a lot. he's dreaming.
"no. NO!" he shouts.
i jump and try to wake him up.
"baby! NICK! wake up." i shout.
he jolts awake.
he's sweating, and out of breath.
"are you okay?" i ask.
he shakes his head no.
i pull him to my chest and lie awake, holding him the rest of the night.
