Mmh...

A ray of light caresses my cheek with it's waking warmth, signaling the start of a new day.

I sit up on my bed still groggy from being woken up.

It was nice for Alisson to give me a few days without paying for their services. Well I did come into here without possessing much riches... I thought as I was fixing my hair.

*knock* *knock* *knock*

"Come in." I said in reply to the sound that freed me in my train of thought.

The door opened revealing Alisson carrying a bucket of water and a towel, and with her is Vanya carrying a tray with some food and water on top.

"You've slept well?" Alisson questioned putting the bucket and towel on the drawer across the room.

"Yes I have. I have to thank you again for making me stay here for a while with no payment." I replied.

Vanya comes up to the side of the bed seeming to have troubles not to drop the tray with my breakfast.

Quinni: "Ah. Thank you for bringing some food little one."

I took the tray and lay in on the drawer next to me, then proceeded to pet Vanya for her act of kindness.

Vanya: "Ah... Uhm..."

Quinnii: "Is there something you want to say? Don't worry, I'll listen."

I inched closer to Vanya meeting her with a soft smile.

As if just remembering something Vanya ran out the room but returned shortly now holding a small bouquet.

She walks up to me holding the bouquet close to her then said;

"T-thank you!"

Then extends her arms to give the flowers.

"Hm... Pink roses, huh? Well, I'm not sure if you know this but in the language of flowers pink roses portray admiration, gratitude, and joy."

I then grabbed the bouquet with one hand and caressed Vanya again with the other making her blush a bit and point her gaze somewhere else.

I turn to Alisson seeming pleased to find her daughter's little gift to work then asked;

"Is there any vases to keep these roses?"

"Ah yes, I think there's one here somewhere..."

She answered now rummaging in the drawing near her then brought one out with a satisfied grin.

The vase didn't have any special decor on it, it was fairly thin and tall, and is made of glass.

Alisson: "Pass me the flowers I'll prepare it for you."

I hand her the fragrant flowers to her.

Quinnii: "Thank you again so much for you hospitality, if there is-"

Alisson: "Oh hush! I don't mind it at all."

She cut me of waving her hand after putting the bouquet in the half-filled vase.

"Well we should be off now, Huyo would be needing my help and Vanya has to be in her friend's house soon."

Alisson stated before hurrying out to help Huyo in the tavern.

Vanya: "Bye-bye Mr. Quinnii, I hope you enjoyed your stay!"

The little girl said waving goodbye and going off to her own journey.

Well I should be going too, I need to find a way to get more funds...

...

I've been wandering for a while now looking for some way to make a earning. I asked a few civilians where I could satisfy my current problem and learned of a guild house where people can make requests in exchange for coins.

And after strolling for a while I reached my desired location.

The building housed a lot more people than I expected. Hopefully that wouldn't ruin my chances of finding a quest.

A lady sits behind a counter. Her kind appears to be that of a red fox. She wears a flowy pink dress, hair bundled up in a braid, and vibrant fur covered neatly all over her body.

I walked up to the counter to ask some questions but the woman seems to be too focused on her own concerns.

I tapped the counter after waiting for a few seconds. She looks up and when she was about to greet me she froze.

She catches herself from staring and spoke with a light and cheery voice:

Lilah: "Greetings sir, welcome to the adventurer's guild house! You may call me Lilah."

Lilah: "I assume that you're new around here and looking to make some coin, don't worry I can guide you through."

She garbs something from the counter and sets it on the table. It was a badge made of copper in a circular shape, and its design looks to be a sword.

"This badge signifies that you are a part of this guild and allow you to accept quests." She explained to satisfy my curiosity.

I get the badge, inspect it a bit, then hanged in around my neck.

Lilah: "By the way; there are ranks in this guild. Copper being the starter, and mithril as the highest. Being in the greater ranks can increase your chances to be requested directly instead of finding some over there at the board." She points at her left and I look towards that direction.

There was a board present covered in papers of various requests. And infront were a few adventurers looking for a quest that may catch their attention.

Lilah: "If you have anymore questions you can always come to me. And thank you for chosing to help our great city."

Quinnii: "The pleasure is all mine. Well, if you may excuse me I'll go search for a available quest."

And as I was about to go to the quest board a voice called out:

???: "That won't be necessary."
