Following the worn familiar path that led to my cabin, I stood before it, realizing what I was doing.
I was doing this on instinct, safety, and familiarity, but could I face all of it? It was either this or facing my other families.
"Percy?"
Whipping around, spotting a little pale deadly Italian rush in, he pulled me into a hug.
I let out a sob, and he looked up at me in worry,
Nodding, he led me to the infirmary, and I tensed, before realizing he was leading me past it.
Pitiful moans came from inside, sobs rang out, medicine clashed with the metallic smell of blood...
I chased my thoughts of the aftermath away.
You have to stop doing this to yourself, Percy.
Ignoring the murmurs of surprise and shock as we passed numerous campers, we found Will on his bed.
Quickly going from a concerned friend, to doctor in a matter of seconds, he frowned, "What happened, Percy?"
The wind lashed my face as I shook my head violently.
I couldn't do this.
(Skip, Nico's POV)
To say I was surprised to see Percy Jackson, the demigod who's been off the grid since Olympus, show up on my way to sword practice, would be an understatement.
Ever since he took a break, without so much as a word to the others at camp, everyone has been asking me if he's still alive.
Sure, there was an occasional paper where we would see Percy and his adoptive family, or on Seahawk, since Will and I were given code names from Percy, but not enough to satisfy.
And every time they'd ask, I'd hold my breath, fearful to find him... not... alive.
Snapping myself out of it, I hugged him.
I know, I know, I'm not such a touchy-feely son of Hades, but the look on his face...
"Let's get you to Will."
Shooting daggers with my eyes, the campers who pointed and whispered scattered like mice, as I growled.
Opening the door to the Apollo cabin, staring at Will as he gasped in shock when I stepped aside, the Son of Poseidon trailed behind me.
He sat him on the bed, frowning, "What happened, Percy?"
He shook his head violently before a sob forced its way through his lips.
What happened to you?
It looks just like he did when he had a very bad nightmare, but way, way worse.
Will couldn't find anything wrong with him physically, but we suspected it was something else.
He heaved a sigh, "It has to be mental, but I can't think of something that would cause this."
"The simulation went wrong," Percy trembled, "I had to kill Megan to save everyone as... as I died... i-in her, in her arms."
He wouldn't elaborate for us further beyond that he didn't really kill or die, but it sure did explain why he shook so fiercely.
"Why don't you stay here for a little bit, just to recover before going home?"
It seemed all he could do was nod his head before Will gently pulled him towards his cabin.
The walk was slow and quiet, with no one saying a word before we led him inside.
"Don' go," He mumbled, slipping onto his mattress, "please."
He sounded so scared, like a little child.
I pulled a blanket on him as Will tucked him in, coming to stand next to me.
Grabbing Will's hand, I gave a quick nod to Percy, "We'll always be here if you need us."
