I relished in Harley's gentle, motherly, touch, as she asked me a question.
"Did Brucie and his boys give you those scars?" She muttered darkly, "if so I'd gladly put them in their place for hurtin' you."
I laughed weakly at her protectiveness, looking down at my tattered shirt. There was enough of it there to hide most of said scars, but some of them peaked out from beneath it, the white-ish standing out against my tan skin.
"No, Harls, I'm fine. They've been really nice to me and my baby sis. They actually don't know I have most of these, I've hidden them well so far."
I could see in her eyes she was thinking really hard, hopefully, she'll drop the subject. I didn't want to have to explain to her how I got them, or why.
"If anyone does hurt you again, you know you can come right to me?"
I looked back at her face, seeing the determination all over it. It was funny how protective she was, how she molded herself into the motherly role. A villain mom. It was really nice to know she cared.
"I know."
(Bruce's POV)
We raced to the abandoned warehouse, sneaking in to through the window when we heard an angry voice. The Joker seemed to be angrier than usual, which wasn't good for Percy. I could remember what he did to Jason, if he did it to Percy then there would be nothing stopping our wrath.
"Where could he have gotten to you idiots! You should've tied him better," Joker screeched.
So, Percy was out, he ran. If he looked as bad as he had on the broadcast, he couldn't have gotten far. Unfortunately, the Joker's thoughts were running on the same track.
"He can't have gotten out of the building, so go find him. I'll kill the little brat for running away," he cackled mercilessly, "who cares about the ransom. I want that sarcastic kid dead, he'll regret messing with the Joker!"
We all stared wide-eyed at what he said: Percy insulted the Joker and got away
"How did he do that?" Red Robin whisper-yelled.
"Tt, have you met Jackson, Drake." Robin scoffed, once again.
"Boys," I interrupted, "we have to get to him before anything else happens." Before it's too late.
(Time Skippy Brought to You By Perssasy)
We finished the fight in a matter of seconds, desperate for Percy. We split up, searching the many halls and rooms, before stumbling upon him.
He was battered and bruised, and in Harley's arms while she sang a lullaby. She only noticed us when I coughed, glaring daggers at her.
"Oh," She opened her mouth to speak further, but Percy opened his eyes.
"Hey, Batsy, fancy meetin' you here." He giggled. He was becoming delirious, this wasn't a good sign.
Nightwing stepped forward softly, "Give him to us, Harley."
She smiled at him, to our surprise, and handed Percy over. I cradled him in my arms, as he slowly became unconscious.
We all gaped at him as he whispered one last thing, "Be nice to Momma H."
Definitely delirious.
"Keep him safe, Batsy." Harley sighed, before racing through the halls.
This was getting weirder by the minute, but we needed to get Percy to the cave. He needed medical attention immediately.
(Time skip)
As soon as we stepped foot in the manor, Alfred took the boy in his own arms, "I will be needing assistance, Master Bruce, as I fix Master Percy up."
"Of course, Alfred," I briskly followed after him, not bothering to hide my fear for the boy.
I could see the others were scared too, Percy had become a brother to them, a son to me. We all loved him dearly, even if we didn't always show it. If he was damaged beyond fixing, we would be devastated.
