~Y/n POV~
We got onto the boat and started off towards the sea
"Alberto" Mr. Massimo calls after we get settled in a spot on the water
"Yes?" Alberto asks
"Are there a lot of fish here or?" Mr. Massimo asks him while looking down at the water then looking back at Alberto
"Oh uh...let me check!" Alberto says before placing his fishing pole down beside me and taking off his boots and gloves.
He jumps into the water and resurfaces a few minutes later
"There aren't many here but I believe there's a bigger school over there" Alberto says while pointing behind me and Massimo as we both turn around
I turn to face Alberto again and stare at his Sea Human features; his hair is a dark amethyst color, his ski— or scales a lilac sorta color but his eyes stayed the same. The same fiery blaze still burning behind them
"Why're you two staring at each other?" I hear Mr. Massimo ask before I quickly look away and bring my attention to my lap
Out of the corner of my eye I see Alberto climb back onto the boat and copy my actions, thus begins the awkward silence
A couple minutes pass before Mr. Massimo brings the net up and me and Alberto begin helping, while helping I look up at Alberto and notice he's copying Mr. Massimo's actions; all the way down to even using only one arm
"That's Adorable" I think to myself as I giggle softly then continue with the net
After awhile my mind begins to wonder and I start to daydream, like normal, but I get pulled from my thoughts when Alberto starts a conversation with me
"So....what's America like?" He asks
"Hm?....oh! America's ok, it could be better though" I say as I rest my head on my hand
"Is the country big?" He asks again
"The country's huge! I mean it's gotta be huge there's 50 states" I say as I look at him
"Wait 50?!" He asks as he looks at me with widened eyes
"Yup!" I say
"America sounds like...A Lot" he says as he lets out a sigh
"Oh don't worry, it is" I laugh
"OY! Ragazzi! Pay attention to the net!" Mr. Massimo yells at us
"Sorry!" We both say and continue pulling the net
~Time Skip~
Me and Alberto decided to take a walk along the sea shore before dinner, he still had many questions about America and I answered them all
"Wait wait wait! So you mean to tell me that there is a place in America called 'Disneyland' and it has all these fun rides and cool treats and toys?!" He asks me
"Yeah!" I say excitedly
"I wanna go there!" He says as he grabs my shoulders and gently shakes me back and forth
"Alberto it costs money to get tickets to go and more money for fast passes (is that what they're called?)" I say in between each time he shakes me
"Oh...well I don't have money and I don't want Massimo to spend his..." Alberto says as he stops shaking me, but continues to hold my shoulders, and sadly looks down
"Hey....It's ok! Besides I'm having more fun here than I ever have whenever I went to Disney" I say to him and he slowly lifts up his head
"Really?" He softly asks me as I nod my head and smile
He laughs softly then hugs me
"You really like hugs, huh?" I ask him as I, obviously, hug him back
"Just from you" he says but it's muffled since his face is in the crook of my neck
We pull away from the hug, smiling and continue our walk
~A couple minutes~
We're both sitting down on the sand and just staring at the stars, I sigh in content then remember something
"Hey Alberto" I say
"Yeah?" He replies
"When did the town find out you and Luca were Sea Monsters?" I ask him
"When I was fourteen and Luca was thirteen, I met Luca on that island over there," he says as he points to an island in the middle of the sea "and so we became friends, what actually brought us to Portorosso was a Vespa" he says while chuckling and I laugh along
"Then," he continues "we met Giulia, found out about this race thingy, trained for it but..." he trails off and I look over at him and see he's looking down in shame
"But...?" I ask softly
"But....I got Jealous of how close Giulia and Luca became...and so...out of jealousy I showed her my Sea monster form, she of course freaked out but what hurt the most was.....when Luca called me a Sea Monster as if he was a human and not the same thing as me..." Alberto says and I see him blink back tears
On instinct I hug Alberto tightly
"Well look who likes hugs now" he teases
"You needed this one" I say softly as he hugs back
"Well I haven't finished my story" he says
"Well then continue" I say as I try to pull away from the hug but he pulls me onto his lap and rests his head on my shoulder as he begins to trace patters on my hand as he continues the story
"Well after...THAT... I swam to the island, Luca found me and also found all the tally's from the days I had been alone, but that's a story for another time," he quickly says and I begin to play with his hair "So Luca promises to make things right, he goes back to town and does the race on his own but while the bike riding portion was going on it started to rain so I ran to him with an Umbrella but Stupid Ercole kicked me and I dropped the Umbrella, got wet, and that revealed my sea monster form. Luca tried to come save me but I stopped him and ended up getting caught in a net, and that's when Luca actually saved me and so we raced down to the finish line with crazy ass Ercole our tails," he says then laughs at the 'tails' and I just shake my head while smiling "anyway, Giulia saves us by pushing him but ends up falling off her bike and rolling down the hill which, of course, made me and Luca stop and go to help her but once we helped her up and begin walking towards the finish line everybody else had already gotten nets and weapons and surrounded us. But Massimo stepped forward and saved us, and so Me and Luca won the race and ever since then Sea Monsters and people have lived in harmony here" he says finishing his story and I clap
He laughs and hugs me closer to his body while sighing in content once I start playing with his hair again
"We should probably head back it's getting late" I say looking at the time on my phone
"Nooooo! Five more minutes" Alberto whines and looks up at me with puppy dog eyes
"Alright Alright" I say and he happily lays his head back down on my shoulder and I kiss his forehead
"My weird yet adorable little Sea Monster" I think to myself
