*Author's Note*-A LOT happens in this chapter. I've been so excited to release this, because it explains SO much. I absolutely love this chapter and I hope you do too!

The next morning I wake up before Loki, and despite my sore legs from last night's...fun, I get changed into active clothes and take my new gifts down to the training room.

I set my stuff down and observe the thigh holster Natasha gave me along with the blade that goes inside. It seems like a basic but effective design. I intend to ask Natasha for lessons on how to use it later. Next I hold up the large sword, the blade is a light shimmery blue, the base a faded golden and an interesting shape to it. I admire the sharp edges and curves to the weapon and the almost reflective blue of the blade. I'm so transfixed on the weapon that I don't even notice Valkyrie come in.

"It's beautiful isn't it." chimes Valkyrie from behind me. I jump and turn to face her.

"Yeah, where did you get it?" I ask, turning the blade over in my hand.

"It used to be mine." She says, "It's a dragonfang blade, the weapon of the Valkyrie." My eyes widened in shock.

"My mother told me about these. I shouldn't have this, I didn't earn it." I say, trying to give the sword back to Valkyrie but she protests.

"Trust me you deserve it far more than I do. And I think it's meant for you, more than you know." she says. I look at her confused. "Fight me with it, then you'll understand."

I hesitantly take a fighting stance, I'm not very accustomed to using a sword but the blade seems to belong in my hands. Valkyrie grabs a sword from the weapon vault in the corner and squares up to me. We exchange a quick glance with each other before she nods, signifying the start of the fight. She starts with a basic swing from my left and I block the impact with the blade and swiftly attempt a strike to her unprotected right side. She parred me immediately and pushed me back with her sword. I back up the wall a fair distance from her and then advance swiftly sliding under her to hit her ankles, but she flips over me avoiding the blow. I skid to a stop and turn around to catch her right before she hits my side with her sword, parring it with my blade and holding my ground. I look down at my stance and my blade and catch sight of something on my arm. I pause and so does Valkyrie with a knowing look. She Points to the inside of my left forearm and says,

"That's what I mean. I just needed to unlock it." I stare in awe at the faded brown ruins inscribed into my arm. I look up at Valkyrie in shock, she's smiling proud at me.

"Is that? Am I?" I struggle to get the words out.

"Yes Sarah you are a Valkyrie. Well, a partial one anyways."

"What do you mean a partial one?"

"I mean you haven't gone through the training to get your permanent mark or be assigned a charge, but you were born a valkyrie." she explains.

"H-how?" I ask, still in shock.

"You told how your mother would tell you stories of the valkyrie, that and when you spared with me got me thinking. I just needed to test my theory and I was right. Your mother had to be a Valkyrie, there's no other way." she explains.

"And my dad?" I ask. Valkyrie shrugs her shoulders.

"I don't know. Men cannot be Valkyrie, but he could've be Asgardian."

"How can I know for sure?" I ask.

"I suppose you could ask Stark to do one of those fancy blood tests." she offers.

"How do I become a full Valkyrie?' I ask, changing the subject away from my dad.

"Technically you need a Valkyrie to mentor you and train you, so I suppose I could mentor you." Valkyrie offers.
