*Author's Note*-I know it's late. I plan to post now on Saturdays or Sundays because my weekdays are filling up again. Anyways enjoy this chapter!

The next morning I awakened to a cool large hand on my shoulder, I jolt up in surprise before realizing it's Loki. I'm still quite traumatized from my time with the fallen Valkyrie. Every time they took me to do more tests or injections their unusually cold hands would grab my arms. I still have rope and strap burns on my arms and legs from the restraints they used.
"Calm, darling it is me," Loki whispers. I calm only slightly and I can see the hint of hurt behind Loki's tired, grieving eyes. As I take in his appearance I can't help but be reminded of our daughter and my heartaches. I look away from Loki and subconsciously rub the bruises on my wrists.
"I'm here to bring you back to our quarters. Your body has recovered greatly from the delivery. Would you like to go to our room?" Loki asks in a gentile hushed tone. I nod my head silently, not daring to look him in the eyes.
Before I remove my blanket I touch the skin on my stomach, it's not nearly as much as it was after birth but I can feel the extra skin and the scars that came with it. I wonder if Loki's enchantment is helping me heal, or maybe it's my Valkyrie genetics. I sigh and pull down my medical gown before Loki removes the blanket and lifts me into his arms.
I tuck my head into the crook of Loki's neck and Loki places a sweet kiss on the top of my head. Silently Loki carries me to our room. Neither of us said anything, and if anyone saw us they chose to stay silent.
Loki lays me down on our bed, it feels heavenly compared to the cot in the cell I've had for the past 8 months.
I'm looking around the room to reacquaint myself with the environment when I notice a new bookcase standing against the wall.
"When did you get that?" I ask, pointing to the new black bookcase.
"Oh after I destroyed the first one. I had an...incident after you were kidnapped," Loki explains. I nod in quiet understanding. Loki stands across the room as we sit in awkward silence. After all these months apart I thought I would know what to say to him but as I sit here nothing comes to my mind.
"Would you like me to..." Loki starts but pauses, trying to figure out what he can possibly say.
"I just need to be alone right now," I say, gently hinting for Loki to leave. He understands and nods sadly before silently leaving our room and shutting the door behind him.
I don't know how many hours pass as I lay in bed, sleeplessly. My mind can't seem to contemplate, let alone process what has happened over these months. There is only one thing I can think of doing right now. Training. So I get out of bed and put on a pair of my leggings, a bit tight around my stomach but not horrible. And then a sports bra, which I notice is visibly tighter than before due to the growth of my breasts during pregnancy. I sigh and slip on a shirt. Only then do I realize that my wings are gone.
I look in the mirror and notice two scars on my back where they used to be. How did I do that? Did Loki do that? Nevermind that. I put on socks and my training shoes, tying up my hair, and head for my door.
I make it to the elevator without being seen but when the elevator arrives Val is inside and openly gawks at seeing me on the other side.
"Sarah, what are you doing out of your room? You're supposed to be resting!" Val practically yells, walking to you and grabbing you by the shoulders as she inspects you. You shake off her hands and shush her.
"Val quiet! I don't need everyone to know I'm out here!" I scold, "I just can't stand to be left alone to my own thoughts any longer, I need to do something. I need a distraction." Val contemplates my excuse before relenting with a sigh.
