Chapter 24- The Awakening

—Rose's POV—

Here I was again in what seems like a hospital bed. Why didn't they killed me? They want me to suffer even more that i already did?

I got up from the bed but immediately felt dizzy. I sat down and looked around. What will they want for me?

Slowly, I got up again and went to the door to see if it was opened. To my surprise it was.

I looked out of the door and saw a white corridor. I had to choose what direction do I go. Right or left?

Right. Don't ask me why

I walked as fast as I could. My whole body hurts but I know that I need to get out of here.

As I walked, I saw a my reflection in one window. I stopped and went in that direction. I looked at my face and gasped

I didn't recognize myself anymore. I felt ugly. My whole face was covered with bruises. They wanted me to remember

"Hey, you come back here!" I hear someone yelling

When I turned around I saw the person running to me. I tried to run away but I couldn't be faster than him. It was just a matter of time until he caught me

My heart was beating too fast. I don't want to go back there. I can't go back there. It will kill me. They will kill me

"It's alright, we are not gonna hurt you. You're safe" the person said but I didn't stopped

I entered in a room with a lot of people in. It's seems like a cafeteria. They all looked at me.

I saw the person that was chasing me entering the cafeteria as well. He put his hand out so I could take it

"Come with me........I promise that nothing will happen with you. Your body is weak, you need to rest. Please, trust me"

I shook my head and took steps back

"You guys........are going to hurt me again.......I can't trust you" I didn't recognize myself. It's like a totally different person was speaking. My voice was so hoarse that it hurts me hear it

He start getting close to me. I saw someone holding a knife, so they could eat. I took the knife from that person and pointed it to the man

Gasps were heard. People got up from their seats and went away from me. I was shaking. They can't do this to me again. Not again

"Can you put the knife down, please?" The man asked but again I shook my head

The door of the cafeteria was opened and I saw people that I never thought would see again. They are alive. That means that I'm not in the Capitol anymore

"Rose, please put the knife down, let's talk. Please, love, put that down" Finnick pleaded and start getting close to me

His voice. The voice that made me calm down. The voice that I wanted to hear for so many times. He was here. It was real

I pointed the knife at him and his eyes widened

"Get away from me........you left me there......you left me to die" I said and felt a tear getting out of my eye

"We didn't had a chance. I swear that I tried everything to get you back but it wasn't enough" he said looking down

I looked behind him and saw Katniss with Josh and Haymitch. I looked at him again and he seemed sad that I doubted him

"Please, you have to believe in me. You are safe now. It's over" he said

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. It's over. I'm free

"Put the knife down" He said

I decided to do what they were asking me. Slowly, I put the knife back on the table. I looked back at him again and start walking to him

He opened his arms and I run to him. We hugged each other so tightly. I was so scared that I will lose him again

He just said that i was safe but for how long? Will I be safe forever? We can't never be happy for too long in the games

The door was opened again and there stood my family. I got out of Finnick's arms and ran to them

"Oh my god.......you are here" my mother whispered

There's a lot of things that I want to talk with her but I will wait a little more.

"I am here"

When I separated from my mother's hug, my brother ran to me. He was crying

"Calm down, I'm here now" I said

"I'm glad you are back because I can't imagine a life without you" he said making me cry even more

"I'm sorry for interrupting but it's necessary that Rose goes back to her room" The man that I ran for said

I nodded and saw Josh avoiding my eyes. Why didn't he hugged me? Why is he avoiding me?

The same goes for Haymitch. What is going on?

I will think about that later. All that matters now is that I'm alive. I'm back and now I have a promise to keep

I have to kill Snow
