Down the trouble off we go

Gludo

David shrieked, Peter almost fainted and Belladonna looked completely taken aback after hearing the deafening roar from so near.
After amusing itself over the reactions given by the boys the lion ruffled his ears and stood up from bed to stand besides Charlotte who patted him.
Enjoying the reactions and the following scary silence Charlotte smiled with devilry dancing in her eyes and said while looking at the lion "Gludo and I will go have a stroll around the Isle ... see ya!"
As Charlotte moved rather triumphantly out of the tent, she made a clicking sound which made the lion roar again, viciously, in the direction of the boys (who already stood on a calculated distance from Charlotte), causing both of them to jump and go stand on the bed. 
"What on earth is she playing at" Peter said with a certain shrill in his voice, once he made sure Charlotte was out of earshot.
"Nothing" came the reply of Belladonna in an irritated tone. David opened his mouth to reply but didn't say anything as he saw her looking at herself in the pier glass and making a high pony and then he looked outside at the sea, thinking in disbelief on how Charlotte could tame a lion!
That is when it struck him so hard that he almost shouted "Charlotte can talk to animals, it's her power"
Peter,also, knew by now of the possibility of them acquiring powers though he hadn't found his yet. Upon hearing this he started thinking about what power he would get. Personally he wanted to have shape-shifting powers but the chances of that to happen for him (he thought) were almost zero.
Replying to David, Belladonna said "No! she can't talk to animals. She just stumbled onto that lion. Fortunately for her, the lion was trapped in a wooden cage, work of hunters here most probably, so she saved him and that may have been the end of the story if that stupid Lion hadn't pricked himself onto bits of the broken wood of the cage. So Charlotte freed the young Lion from his thorns and then they became best-friends-forever. (She emphasized the last 3 words)
David frowned and said "spoken like a true happily ever after."
Belladonna made faces back at him, David ingnored it and shook his head.
Turning to Peter she said " you know if you want those shape shifting powers (Peter coughed at the word)  you better work hard on things which you think resonates with that power and as I have been sensing someone or something controlling that diamond and if that is the case then they may just give you that power if you impress them enough."
"Oh yeah" said David before Peter could reply, feeling a gush of annoyance in his stomach over Belladonna answering his friend's thoughts, "well what if you are sensing dangers towards that diamond and are not able to understand that so you think someone is actually controlling it."
In a haughty tone Belladonna replied "listen mister I dont work with sonar technology or something. I know what I am sensing."
Silence.
David thought hard but couldn't find a fitting reply so the silence was finally broken by Peter's awkward laugh. He did by now knew all that the Belladonna, Charlotte and David knew except that Belladonna and David did not get along with each other.
Silence followed again as they all pretended to be doing something like straightening the bedsheet or looking at the pier glass for no reason at all.
Eventually Belladonna broke-up and said "okay boys it's about time we get some well-needed sleep-"
David interrupted her
"good, it's about time you leave."
"IT'S OUR TENT"
Belladonna said loudly and then slightly turned around but then realized Charlotte was not around. Realizing the same thing (moreso because he too needed back-up) David was about to ask for Charlotte when Peter said " Well what about that cherry-gone-crazy woman?"
"Yeah" acknowledged David "she's out all alone in the jungle."
Belladonna replied rather loudly in an 'it's-obvious-tone "she has a lion to keep her company."
"What about LUZANDRA and her men"
David came in an equally louder tone.
"What do you mean she doesn't have any women working for her?" Peter asked.
The moment sank in with some silence in which the dumb-ness of the question was realized, and while exchanging glances they just burst into laughter.
Feeling joyfull again after a hearty laugh, David felt glad that finally Peter was back as Belladonna said " don't worry Luzandra knows better than to mess with her!"
"Meaning?"
Both David and Peter asked, surprised and in utter confusion.
Belladonna just smiled and said " you've never seen her in action, have you?" She winked at them mischievously and went to her bed.
The boys went and settled in their tent, threw their shoes and socks in no definite direction, hopped on the bed and just as they laid down David suddenly said " Hey! Wasn't that our tent"
"Uhh!" Peter stopped and then both of them laughed.
"Good to have you back petsy!"
David said turning on the other side as Peter replied while yawning "shut-up! By the way I've been told that I snore at night."
"I'll kick you out of this bed" David replied sleepily at which Peter chuckled and soon the soft warm bed and exhaustion of the day brewed a dreamless sleep for David.
