"Dastepe..." Peter said in a way that showed he was rather disappointed
David however looked hard at Steve and said " what if this device is related to your daughter's disappearance. What if we can find a way to get her back by it." He said this in a sort of a trance with no sign of persuasion in it though Charlotte looked angry at David while Peter's mouth was open at the end of this sentence. Steve said nothing except this "leave ... now." In a drowning voice. Charlotte left instantly while Peter brought David back from his thoughts by shaking him and took him out of the room leaving a lost Steve alone. Just as they reached Peter's room Charlotte came out of no where from behind them causing David to give jerk and Peter to put a hand on his heart following a little scream. Charlotte stopped and said "what on earth were you thinking when saying that". David felt some sparks rising from within him after getting hold of himself from the suddenness and unnecessary (according to him) reaction of Charlotte as he said"give me one solid reason to tell you.. you ..y(looking for the right word) stranger that ."

For the first time Charlotte seemed hurt and a voice squeaked out from her mouth forcing out the words slowly " I did not ask you to find out my true identity but I guess it was my fault to trust you with it". Allowing some silence to follow in which her gaze was transfixed at David who can spot the eyes reddening. She left the boys ,stunned, to themselves.

Eerie silence
David felt really guilty and embarrassed to an extent that he could feel him radiating heat. He fought with Charlotte and he didn't like it but he was determined to not apologise either. It was clear to him that friendships are complicated no matter how much experience you have with them you are without words in every situation.
