Adora's POV

Queen Angella demanded that I rest.

Rest?

Why would I rest?

The Horde needs to be stopped.

And now I was literally stuck in my room FORCED to rest.

Why did I have to lose my eye?

I'm showing pain.

Pain is a sign of weakness.

If I show weakness... I'll be punished.

It worked that way my whole life.

~~Flashback~~

Me and Catra were both only 8.

We were doing our usual nonsense.

We snuck into Shadow Weaver's room.

"Wow!" I exclaimed. "It's so big."

"I don't know, Adora." Said Catra. "We shouldn't be here. I don't think Shadow Weaver loves me."

"Nonsense." I said. "She loves both of us."

I saw something glowing in the corner of the room.

"Woah!" I said. "What is that?"

"Adora, no." Said Catra, jumping in front of me. "It's too dangerous."

"What are you doing here?" We heard Shadow Weaver's voice. "Catra, was this your doing?"

She froze Catra in place.

"You must be punished." Said Shadow Weaver. "How dare you try and ruin Adora's bright future?"

"Shadow Weaver, wait!" I said, jumping between her and Catra. "It was my idea. Catra tried to stop me. Don't take it out on her."

Shadow Weaver glared at Catra.

"Is this true, Catra." Asked Shadow Weaver.

Catra looked at Shadow Weaver.

"No." Said Catra. "It was mine."

What is she doing?

It my idea.

"Catra!" I exclaimed. "No. It's my fault, not yours."

"Stop trying to defend me, Adora." Said Catra. "It's my fault, I'll take the punishment."

"Now leave, Adora." Demanded Shadow Weaver.

"But I-" I started.

"Leave!" Pleaded Catra.

I had tears in my eyes as I left.

~~Two Hours Later~~

Catra returned to our bunk room.

She had bruises on her face.

I ran over and hugged her.

"I'm sorry." I pleaded. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, Catra. It was my fault. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

Catra was laughed and calmly pushed me away.

"It's okay." She said. "Your okay."

"No." I said. "Your face is bruised. It's all my fault."

"Adora," Catra began. "I'm okay. As long as you're doing fine, I'm fine. If you cry, I cry. Anywhere you go, I go."

"Promise?" I asked.

~~End Of Flashback~~

Catra's POV

I promised.

I promised to help Adora.

I ending up scarring her for life.

Does every injury we've dished out on her, happen to her real form?

I've always tried to stay by her side until the last couple of years.

Why?

Why didn't I join the Rebellion?

What the fuck kept me from helping Adora?

Scorpia was concerned about the bruises on my face.

But they'll heal.

Unlike Adora's....

She'll only have one eye from now on.

Not to mention the permanent psychological wounds caused by Shadow Weaver.

She might've been Shadow Weaver's favorite, but we all know she didn't get a free pass from her abuse.

We all got hurt, but we learned to embrace our pain.

Adora is different.

She doesn't worry about her wounds... only ours.

Whenever we got hurt, we never needed to cry.

Adora always did our crying for us.

Our pain was her pain.

When she gets hurt, she never wants our help.

When we get hurt, she always want to help us, and always does.

Adora...was always too good for the Horde.

Maybe she...was always too good for me.

I'm gonna pay a little visit to the bitch who always led to Adora's pain.
