Chapter 4-Giulia

Emilia's pov
Finally Ercole let's me go "oh, look who's here spewilia" he says as the girl who looks around my age "wow that's how you training for the race" Ercole says. I hid behind the girls cart with Alberto and luca. The girl pulls out a fish and points at Ercole like a weapon "your reign of terror...." she gets intrupted "is coming to an end, you mean like year ago when you quit in the middle of the race because you couldn't stop throwing up" Ercole says. Okay I really gotta learn the girls name "I didn't quit they made me stop" she says "hey you okay?" I hear luca ask me in a whisper "yea I'm fine" I say "I think that is worse, now go away I'm having fun with my new friends" Ercole says. I saw that Alberto was just glaring at him and I couldn't blame him really "their coming with me, hop on I could use the extra weight" she says while luca and Alberto sat in her cart. I see there wasn't enough room so I had on other choice but to sit on Alberto's lap and the girl starts riding off while sticking her tongue out "fine, go start a club, for losers" Ercole says. I hate that human "maggiore! Another sighting in the harbour this time" a man says "I know we are setting a reward, someone's gonna win a nice prize" a woman says but at that point we got far enough away. I looked over to the human girl that helped us "Sto imbecille thinks he can be a jerk course be keeps winning the race which he shouldn't even get to do anymore course he's too old and too much of a jerk" she says fianllt remembering we were with her "You know we underdogs have to look out for eachother right?" She says. Okay what was she talking about "what's under the dogs?"Alberto asked confused and she stops so we got off "underdogs, you know kids who are different, dressed wired or a little sweater then average" she says. I just looked at the guys then back at her "too much? Too much, so are you in town for the race?" She asked but we said nothing "the Portorosso cup?" She asked and again we say nothing. We didn't exactly know what to right now "well good talk, I gotta deliver these, always be training you know?" She says and she rides off and as we walked off luca gasps "we should ask her about this Portorosso Cup race, that's how the loud scary human said he got his vespa" he says. Okay he does have a point there so we go find the girl again "hey uh spewilia?" Alberto asked "Giulia, my name is Giulia" she says so we fianlly know her name "Okay, when you race in a cup, what do you get?" Alberto asked her "soldi, prize money" she said. Well that's one part solved but how would that became a vespa "oh" Alberto says and Giulia rides off "keep going" luca says "ask her about the prize money" I say as we walk to catch up with Giulia "but that stuff is useless" Alberto says "maybe that comes a vespa" luca says "how does that become..." Alberto gets intrupted by luca "just ask her" he says. We catch up to her again "hello again" I say "ciao" she says "can we turn the money into something else?" Alberto asked "for example something like that?" I asked and point out a vespa "pfft no but it could get you that" she says pointing at a vespa that definitely need some work do on it. I looked to the boys "it's so beautiful" luca says "yes we need it" Alberto says "oh we definitely do" I say "great so we'll just win the race" Alberto says and I see Giulia stop and turn to us "you'll have to beat Ercole" she says "so we'll beat him no problem" I say to her "oh really you think you can, first of all get in line, every summer that jerk makes my life miserable so no ones taking him down unless it's me" she says. The boys looked slightly afraid of her "second this isn't any old race, it's and epic grueling traditional Italian triathlon swimming, cycling and eating pasta, so you need a teammate" she says. That doesn't seem to hard "well will figure it out, thanks human girl" Alberto says and Giulia starts to leave "wait wait Alberto wait if we join her team" luca suggested "hmm better idea" he says "hey spew.....girl" Alberto said running infront of her "santa mozzarella" I hear her mumble "congratulations your joining our team" he says. She rolled her eyes "ha I race alone" she says she she get stuck and while luca helps her pull me and Alberto pushed to help her get unstuck "we could be under the dogs too" luca says "hey it's okay luca she'd rather do the whole race alone again" Alberto says "maybe she won't throw up as much this time" I says with a smirk. I wanted to try and be her friend "uh, hang on.....you wanna be on my team eh? Let's see what you got" she says and that's how luca ends up trying to ride a bike but falls "Okay try jumping onto it" I say and he tried then fell again "no you gotta show it your the boss" Alberto says but luca kept falling "eyes up, looking down is what's making you fall" Giulia says and fianlly he was riding the bike. I can't believe he's actually doing it "Okay so we win this race, get our vespa then we're out of here" Alberto says "yea it's gotta be amazing" I says and see Giulia setting up wooden planks over the fountain oh this can't be good "now can you handle to courses difficult terrain" Giulia says and luca carefully goes over and almost falls but luckily he fell away from the water "luca are you okay?!" I yelled a me and Alberto ran over to him. We help him up "yea I'm okay" he says "Okay so what about you two, can you swim at least?" Giulia says "yea I'm amazing.....amazingly bad at swimming" Alberto says after I elbow him in the arm. Giulia looks at me "I'd drown if I went in the water" I say "so you can't swim, you can bearly ride a bike this is a disaster" she says "where are you even from?" She asked "we're not tell you our secrets......we're runaways" Alberto says. I just stayed quite "runaways? I don't know ragzzi" she says "please my family was gonna send me were horrible away from everything I love but if we win this race well we can be free" luca says. I felt so bad his family was gonna do that to him "my life's great I'm just helping him out" Alberto says "please help us?" I begged "you guys wanted it just as bad as I do, you have the hunger, that's the most important thing" she says "oh I'm definitely hungry" Alberto says "perfetto, you eat you bike and I swim" Giulia says "and I'll cheer for you guys" I say with a smile "underdogs?" Giulia says. We all puts out hands in "underdogs!" We say then take our hands away "now we just need money for the entry fee, from my dad" Giulia says.
