Emilia's pov
We followed Giulia to her house "just let me do that talking" she says and she walked in "hey papa I brought some friends for dinner is there enough for 5?" She asked I see the harpoons on the wall. The big human Looks at us and we take a seat "what do you think he kills with those?" Alberto asked "anything that swims" the man says, I don't know why but something about seeing them made me panic. I think Alberto took notices he holds my hand under the table "another sighting in the paper" he says looking at a picture of something "that's photo's a fake papa, everyone in Portorosso pretends to believe in sea monsters" Giulia says handing us each a glass of water. That photo kinda looks like Alberto "well I'm not pretending" Giulia's dad says and using a knife he sticks the clipping to a wall covered in things about sightings of sea monsters, luca spat his water out unfortunately over Alberto showing half of his fish face so quickly luca tackled him to the ground before the humans saw. They look back confused then look at me and I chuckle nervously then the boys came back up with Alberto's face dry "ahhh they slipped" I say and thank god they brought it. Soon the dinner was served and the boys ate with their hands but I did my best to copy how Giulia and her farther where doing it "where did you 3 say you were from?" He asked and his cat growls a little like it knew something was up with us. I looked at the guys not knowing what to say "oh their class mates luca and...." Giulia says realising she doesn't actually know mine and Alberto's names "Alberto and Emilia" I speak up "what brings you to Portorosso?" Mr Marcovaldo asked. Giulia got a little nervous "oh um they came for the race" she says but quickly tried changing the subject "you know what never mind" she says taking the dishes away "Giulia a word please" Mr Marcovaldo says and he and Giulia sat off to the side while me, luca and Alberto sat quietly. I was definitely feeling nervous "Giulia I don't want you doing the race anymore, you get so upset" Mr Marcovaldo says "but papa I have a team now" she says "there's also the entry fee moneys tight" he says back to her. I feel pretty bad for them "I work double shifts at the pescheria whatever you need" Giulia says "I can't sell what I don't have, what i need is more fish in my net" Mr Marcovaldo says "um excuse sir maybe we could help" I say and the two looked at us "you know fish?" Mr Marcovaldo questions "oh yea we know lots of fish" Alberto says. He had a bit of a grin on his face "please papa can this face lose" Giulia almost begs "you want to work? I'll put you to work" Mr Marcovaldo yes we're gonna do this. I am so happy right now but that cat ends up attacking luca and Alberto but we make it out of there with Giulia "sorry about the cat I don't know what got into him" she says "oh don't worry about it, it's probably because we're strangers to him" I say and she smiled. I realised then that we have no where to stay "um well we better get back to...." luca says as he and Alberto realise the same thing "oh you guys need a place to stay" Giulia says. She takes us up to this plank of wood in the tree right next to her house. I smiled "oh sorry this is...." Giulia says picking up some books "your hideout" Alberto says "yea my hideout" Giulia says with a bit of a smile okay why did that make me feel jealous "BuonaNotte guys" she says and goes back threw her window and ened up falling "you okay?" I asked her. She pops her head back up "Ahhhhh I slipped" she says closing her window "wow that was interesting" I say laying down, I was laying next to Alberto with luca on the other side of him "yea did you see that size of that dad human, that definitely kills things for sure" Alberto says. He and luca finally both lay down "I thought we were gonna die like a million times" luca says "but we made it out" I says "yea I can't believe I rode that bike, I mean Giulia said look up and off I went" luca says "yea but the vespa is gonna be even better then a bike and the moment we get it we're out of here" Alberto says. I smiled at that idea "yea I can't wait for it, we're gonna have such amazing adventures" I say and eventually we all fall asleep exited for what this summer holding for us.
