If Sora was being honest, seeing her dad almost cry made her almost cry too. It was like they both had a connection where she could feel his emotions and they would literally hurt her.
Well, she could feel his emotions because of her six eyes, which sucked since his student had just ditched the village because of a brother complex he had.
"Papa...?" She was almost afraid by the dull and faraway look in his eyes. He knelt down in front of her and the light drizzle from outside made his vest wet, though he didn't seem to care and Sora didn't seem to mind.
"You...Won't be seeing Sasuke for awhile, okay sweetie?"
She nodded and wrapped her arms around his neck, allowing him to pick her up and walk towards the room they shared. He seemed to be too tired or not in the right state of mind to give her a bath, let alone change out of his clothes. He did, however, remove his jounin vest and shirt.
After doing so, Kakashi laid them both down on the bed, though he was cradling her to his chest with an unforgiving grip that ensured her safety with him.
Sora didn't mind. After all, her presence made people calm, just like it was doing now for Kakashi. Unfortunately, she couldn't read his thoughts, but if she had been reading them, maybe she'd be able to help him with whatever pain he was feeling.
Kakashi had finally fully acknowledged his daughter. He felt like a fool for not doing so earlier, but Sasuke betrayal reminded him that the people he loved could disappear at any moment.
He wondered how his father felt at times like this, and suddenly felt apologetic for being such a brat as a kid. He didn't want Sora to have these regrets when she grew older, so he'd have to pull himself together and quick.
So he simply hugged her with his hand tighter and kissed her head, closing his eyes, and for the first time, Kakashi fell asleep before Sora.
"I love you, Sora."
Soras lips twitched into a smile mixed with a frown.
"I love you too, papa."
Actually, Sora talked to Sasuke before he left.
She didn't say much and didn't do much either. Instead, she just punched him and smiled.
"If you try and hurt papa, I will kill you." He scoffed but Sora paid him no mind, as she knew at her age currently she could absolutely destroy him.
"By the way..." Sora spoke and turned around, seeming to disappear yet her words lingered loud and clear to the Uchiha. Had she seen his reaction she would have laughed, but fortunately she wasn't there or the boy might have actually tried to kill her.
"Itachi-Oniichan is way more pretty than you. You're just his shadow."
Maybe it was a little harsh? She didn't care. With all the crap he'd put Sakura, Naruto and her father in the future, he could take a little insult even if he is a brat who was more dead than his own clan.
Oh well, she only let him go.
What could go wrong?
SKY BLUE KEKKEI GENKAI
"Whoa, he totally beat you guys up!" Kakashi sighed and silently scolded her while Naruto yelled at her.
"I'll beat him next time, promise!"
"No you wont." She pursed her lips. "You'll beat him eventually but not in your next battle."
The Uzumaki was surprised she actually believed in him, and while he didn't understand how she knew what would happen, having another put their faith in him made him happy.
"I promise I'll bring him back, Sora!"
She hummed and sat on the windowsill in a crouched position with Kakashi pinching the fabric of her shirt with two fingers to keep her stable and make sure she didn't fall.
Lazily, the youngest Hatake brought up her hand and waved it dismissively at him.
"Whatever. He can die for all I care."
"W-What?" Narutos lips straightened into a tight lipped frown. "What are you saying, Sora?!"
"I'm saying I don't care about a boy going through puberty with a ducks butt as his hair style and an ego bigger than my awesomeness, which is big."
"Sora, enough." Kakashi picked her up and placed her on her feet. He lightly kicked her butt as a gesture to move towards the door, which she whined about but obeyed him.
"Sorry, Naruto." He apologized for her insensitive words, but the blonde boy only clutched the hospital bed sheets tighter and allowed a few tears to roll down his cheeks.
"It's fine. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but they will soon. I'll prove them all wrong. Even Sora." He wiped his tears. "But there is one thing she was right about."
"What is it?" Kakashi tilted his head at his student, silently telling the boy to continue and explain what he had meant, so Naruto Uzumaki did just that.
"Teme had terrible hair, a terrible ego, and his older brother is better looking."
"Naruto...Just no."
"What? It's true."
"Aaand moving onto another subject--"
"But in all honesty, sensei, I will bring Sasuke back."
"I know, Naruto." He ruffled the boys hair. "I know you will."
"Oi! Those headpats are for me only!"
"Sora, go back outside."
"Yes papaaaa."
Later that week, Naruto would have his last bowl of Ichiraku ramen for two and a half years.
Soon, the host of the nine tails left the village right before Soras and her papas eyes on a journey to get stronger, and no matter how much Sora thought she would, she didn't miss Naruto that much.
And as she glanced at her smiling fathers figure, she knew it was because he was always by her side.
"Yeah..." Kakashi glanced down to look at her smiling expression as she clutched his hand tighter than before.
"I'm way more amazing than any depressed Uchihas-- Actually, I'm way more amazing than anyone, because anyone but me is not sexy."
"Alright, that's enough out of you." Kakashi laughed and picked her up. "Let's go give you a bath."
"Aweeee~!"
