Chapter 18: I Don't Trust Him

Third Person POV

July 12, 1994

Whitney was in the living room with Bobbi Kristina, waiting for Michael to return from the recording studio so they could have lunch together. By this point, Whitney was about seven months pregnant, and she was definitely beginning to feel those months weigh in on her.

But as she counted each day go by, she knew that she and Michael were just two months away from meeting their son or daughter.

While Whitney sat beside Bobbi Kristina as she played on the couch with a bunch of building blocks, she suddenly heard a knock on the door. Taking her daughter in her arms and placing her in her playpen, Whitney walked over to the door and opened it to see her manager, Clive Davis standing in the doorway and holding two gift baskets.

Surprised to see him here, Whitney said, "Oh, Clive! Hello! I didn't know you were coming!"

With a gracious smile, Clive replied, 

"Hello, Whitney! I was in town, so I figured I'd drop by and give you these."

And he handed Whitney two baby gift baskets for both genders!

Touched by his gesture, Whitney said to him as I welcomed him inside,

Touched by his gesture, Whitney said to him as I welcomed him inside,

"Aww! That's so sweet! Thank you so much, Clive! Please! Come in! Come in!"

With that, Clive walked into the house and said as he greeted Whitney's daughter in her play pen,

"Hello, little Kristina!"

Sitting down on the couch beside Whitney, Clive asked,

"So which gender do you think it's gonna be."

Whitney answered, "Well, I personally think it's going to be a little boy. But Michael thinks it's gonna be a little girl."

Clive said shrugging his shoulders, "Well, it looks like we're just gonna have to wait and see."

Whitney asked, "So, Clive! Aside from these wonderful gifts, what else brings you here to Neverland?"

He began to say, "Well you see, Whitney... I know now that you've agreed to star in Waiting To Exhale, you've also got a soundtrack to record, and that means-"

Before Clive could finish what he was saying, Michael suddenly walk into the room.
