Kellin's POV
Three weeks had passed since me and Vic had become an official couple, and everything was perfect. Every Saturday we would have our usual date night, though, since becoming a couple, instead of him going home at the end of the night, he would stay over. I never usually slept well before, on top of everything else I suffered from insomnia a lot, but the nights I spent curled up in Vic's arms where the best nights sleep I'd had since I can remember. There was just something about being in his arms that made me feel so safe, secure and relaxed. I loved the feel of his arms wrapped around me, as if he was protecting me, the way he let out soft, barely audible snores while he slept, the way we'd fall asleep his arms around me, my head on his chest and wake up completely entangled in each other. I loved waking up the next morning and bringing him a cup of coffee and cuddled up while watching Netflix until we where ready to get out of bed. He'd always stick around until the afternoon and he only left because I babysat Brooke on Sunday's from two P.M and I didn't feel quite ready to have Vic around Brooke. It wasn't anything against Vic at all, it was just she was so small and already had one man walk out of her life that treated her and her mom badly. I guess you could say over time I felt like a father figure to Brooke, so I wanted to protect her and be sure that she wouldn't one day see Vic walking out the door too. He understood that, which I was grateful for, and he respected it too, saying that Brooke was lucky to have a guy like me in her life that loved and protected her the way a father should.
We'd had a little spat the other day, nothing big, it started off as a debate about PC gaming, nothing big. But it ended up turning into a spat, or minor argument I guess, because he refused to admit he was wrong and got kind of agitated. I was being kind of suborn and refusing to let up and in the heat of the moment he said something a little upsetting. He said the words 'god Kellin, stop being so stupid' and ended up walking out of my apartment. It hurt, the one person who I thought wouldn't say something like that did. But he quickly came back, apologizing and doing everything he could to make it up to me. I guess Vic was one of those types who could get frustrated a little too easy sometimes, it was okay though. Some times we all said things in the heat of the moment, and he showed me he was genuinely sorry, so I quickly forgave him. I didn't go into this thinking it was going to be all flowers, rainbows, cute puppy dogs and fluffy bunnies. All relationships take time, work, effort, at the beginning you're still getting to know each other, what makes them tick and then what ticks them off. What upsets them, and what makes them happy, what they're like when they're happy, sad, upset, pissed off, stressed etc. So, I knew it wasn't going to be all easy, but he made it worth it.
"Hey Kellin, can you work tomorrow?" My boss, Jesse asked as I was busy restocking the games in the gaming section.
"Ummm, I can work til three? Vic's got this big thing planned and is picking me up at half four."
"Oooooh, what's the plan?"
"I have no idea, he won't tell me." I chuckled.
"Ahhh, well if you could work ten til three that would be a big help. Justin called in sick, Gabe is covering him today, but Gabe's already working tomorrow so if you could do that, that would be awesome."
"Sure." I smiled. "I could do with the extra money, plus, you know, it's kind of fun here."
"Kind of?" Jesse raised an eyebrow.
I couldn't help but roll my eyes. "That's what I said isn't it?"
"Well then, I guess I'm just going to have to find away to make it more fun won't I? Maybe you can wear the Professor Layton costume when the new game comes out in a couple of weeks."
"Ohhh no, no, I already dressed up as Superman a couple months ago, and Batman before that, so I think it's someone else's turn!"
"Hey, you're the one who said it's kind of fun, what more do you want a guy to do?"
"Walk around in a pink fairy costume." I grinned. "I think that would amuse everyone seeing you wandering around the store like that. Pink dress, pink tights, wings, tiara, wand...the lot, I think my friend has one you could borrow..."
"Yeah...Over my dead body Quinn! Get back to work!" He laughed and walked off.
